We have an exciting opportunity for a creatively minded Publishing + Content Strategist to work across our Sports and Retail + Leisure divisions, developing compelling insight driven concepts and content strategies for current and new sports clients, championing creative work that will work across all channels. 

H+K Sports team has been behind the biggest campaigns, sponsorships and events in sport for the past two decades. The biggest brands in sport, including adidas, Gillette and HSBC have trusted the marketing and communication experts at H+K to make their campaigns famous by creating and delivering some of the industry’s most celebrated and pioneering work.

From the biggest events (The Olympic Games, FIFA World Cups, Rugby World Cups, Wimbledon, The Open Championship) to the biggest names (Lionel Messi, Novak Djokovic, Jess Ennis, Rory McIlroy) we are always at the heart of the action. We build long-term client relationships, being a trusted partner with adidas for 22 years, Gillette for 19 years and HSBC for 11 years.

The Retail + Leisure sector is a team of around 18 talented influencer and media managers, content creators, publishing and creative strategists, along with client service specialists. This fast paced and ambitious team works across - as the name suggests - retail, leisure and also entertainment and travel clients; running busy press offices, devising and implementing major brand initiatives, both globally and locally, and developing content and publishing strategies for clients.

  • Provide counsel to clients and lead insight driven content strategies for current and new clients, championing creative work that will work across all channels
  • Adopt and champion a creative approach to problem solving and responding to briefs. Developing compelling concepts for content series and campaigns that achieve client objectives
  • Specialise in understanding and articulating best in class publishing, including the programming, optimisation and community management involved in executing effective content strategies
  • Present with insight, substance and passion both internally and externally, selling ideas you have developed and driven
  • Ensure best practices in content strategy, (video, social, website), community management, social engagement and SEO are being adhered to across all client and owned channels.  Ensure all content is of the highest quality in relation to the brief, acting as core line of approval before being shared externally
  • Understand the client’s competitive landscape and make informed recommendations regarding emerging and new technologies
  • Work with client teams to help define the scope and approach for major projects for clients and where necessary help structure and present recommendations
  • Drive escalation of knowledge within the practice, continuously focus efforts on developing and enhancing the skills and capabilities of the team, as well as working within the sports and H+K content and publishing teams across the agency and globally to drive best practice
  • Provide recommendations and insight to growth strategies for clients, identify new opportunities and play a proactive role in terms of proposal development, pitching and conversion
  • A strong analytical understanding (including comprehensive usage of web and social analytics) and the ability to intuitively understand what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it
  • Solid working knowledge of digital channels/ social media platforms and how they can be used to generate, host and engage audiences with creative content
  • Ability to generate ideas that deliver cut through within target media and or within the social media space 
  • Extensive content strategy development experience, ideally gained within an agency environment 
  • Ability to explain technical issues with clarity in a non-technical way 
  • Intellectual and creative curiosity 
  • Interest in, and an understanding of key issues in sport, the media and the world around you 
  • Ambition, drive, and commitment to great results
