Senior Vice President - ReviveHealth

Strategic Planning

The Position:

ReviveHealth is evolving to weave strategic planning into the very fabric of its identity. At our agency, strategic planning does not end with creative development; it is a seamless journey that extends through every form of B2B and B2C engagement. The SVP/Strategic Planning at ReviveHealth plays the key role in this process. Reporting to the CEO, this individual will lead insights work and cull those that are actionable; actively participate in creative ideation and campaign development for our key and anchor client partners. Individual will work closely and directly with account leads, the agency’s digital/creative group, and client partners. This individual will have a deep understanding of how all digital/social media platforms, content platforms, paid media platforms, and PR platforms integrate to create the most effective strategic plans. Must have a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply all disciplines to the development of strategic plans – digital, social, content, marketing, paid, and PR – in B2B and B2C environments.

The Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning:

  • Work closely with account leadership and digital/creative group to provide strategic insight that properly positions ReviveHealth as a valued resource to client partners and prospects.
  • Independently interpret quantitative data in order to develop a qualitative point of view about the competitive landscape and target B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Help “lead and breed” a strategic planning mindset at ReviveHealth, and create a culture that demonstrates the value of ReviveHealth’s unique approach as a strategic and brand counselor to client partners.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to executive group and account leads about the evolution of Strategic Planning capability at ReviveHealth.
  • Demonstrate proactive, solutions-oriented thinking, regularly offering counsel to teams and client partners.

2. Communication and Relationship Management: Builds and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external audiences through trust, respect and open dialogue. Communicates in a timely and responsive fashion to the needs of colleagues and client partners. Exhibits highly effective communication and presentation skills (internal/external) in the following areas:

  • Value proposition of ReviveHealth
  • ReviveHealth thought leadership
  • Campaign strategy, creative and execution
  • Actionable insights

3. Firm Leadership:

  • Continue to build a leadership role through participation in outside organizations to increase marketplace visibility, create new business opportunities, and enhance industry knowledge of best practices.
  • Demonstrate ability to impact and positively influence the Agency beyond direct scope of responsibility.
  • Regularly share thought leadership on subjects related to Strategic Planning via our social media platforms.
  • Help create a Strategic Planning Culture at ReviveHealth and lead all internal evangelism and development of intellectual capital for Strategic Planning at ReviveHealth:
    • Collaborate with President to develop internal training curricula to extend a “strategic planning mindset” throughout the agency and deliver on ReviveHealth’s new planning-led model
    • Implement other workshop and seminar-type sessions for ReviveHealth account staff so that a “strategic planning mindset” can be instilled in our culture.

4. People Development

  • Anticipate, ensure and maximize professional development of staff by conducting performance reviews, preparing development plans, setting attainable / measurable goals, empowering and enabling staff to leverage professional development programs and resources, and identifying and ensuring completion of training goals.
  • Sustain morale, mentor staff, support growth initiatives and recognition.
  • Take seriously career development and mentorship of professionals who have SVP/Strategic Planning as “home base”
    • Identify and nurture individual skills with the intention of creating a robust, diverse and dynamic group.
    • Ensure that strategic planning is being applied and/or transformed into actionable ideas for our clients.
    • Instill the rigor and discipline of strategic planning into the group while leveraging our creative vision with everything that we do.

5. Practice Development

  • Greatly enhance overall level of strategic planning and creative excellence at ReviveHealth
    • Proactively approach selected client partners (as determined by EVP/CS and President), with “spec” strategic thinking (white papers, POVs, etc.) as a way to showcase our strategic planning talent and capabilities, which lead to incremental growth for ReviveHealth with these client partners.
    • Help develop a strategic working process that can inspire creative teams and lead to closer, more collaborative client partner relationships.
  • Support strategic planning for select pitches and proposals
  • Work with practice leaders and corporate marketing team to develop smart, strategic, and impressive pitches and proposals for high-dollar opportunities.
  • Work closely with the EVP/CS, President and CEO to secure organic revenue growth: specifically, by building relationships with individual client partner contacts to generate incremental campaign work.
  • Twice a year conduct an assessment of assigned day to day client partners and present information to executive group and leadership group. Assessment will include a point of view of the client partners brand positioning, B2B and B2C insights, and ReviveHealth’s marketing communication opportunity that aligns with the brand’s pillars of growth.

The Essentials:

Education: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or related field preferred


  • 12 years or more experience in integrated marketing, with progressive responsibilities in strategic planning
  • Management consulting or strategic planning experience in health care is valued but not required
  • Agency experience required
  • A positive, constructive attitude in meeting challenges and problems
  • An ambitious, motivated self-starter, and genuine team player
  • Thorough knowledge of agency business practices • Excellent verbal/written/editing skills; superior, persuasive presentation skills
