Who we're looking for:
Do you know how to successfully manage high-profile accounts, lead a team and expand existing business? Are you ready to contribute to the growth of an agency? Olson – one of the most respected agencies needs an innovative, creative and collaborative Vice President in our New York office. You’ll help grow and manage account teams and clients. Consumer and trade media experience at an agency is required.

In addition to inspiring internal teams and Clients with fresh PR ideas and execution, the VP will oversee the strategic and creative development of PR campaigns from inception to execution for assigned clients. This position also requires a solid understanding of communications and events strategy, multi-channels of communication (including social media), desire to work in a dynamic, growing office, liaise with other offices and departments at Olson, collaborate with Client’s other agency partners and support broader new business efforts when necessary. An entrepreneurial spirit is essential to this role.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Provide strategic counsel to Senior Clients
  • Lead account teams to develop and execute campaigns and tactics to support Client products and services in the marketplace
  • Responsible for successful execution of approved programs and subsequent measurement of all programs
  • Identify and manage Client problems such as client/agency relations, budgets, etc.
  • Strive to grow current account business and participate in new business for the agency, when called upon
  • Manage and mentor account teams, guide team skills and career development
  • Ensure that Clients are receiving the highest level of service, value and creative thinking from the agency
  • Partner with the SVP and the agency’s Senior Leadership Team to impact the next chapter of the NY office and the agency
  • Join the Olson VP Group whose mission is to inspire, lead and further the agency’s mission by developing our people, culture and business
  • Communicate thought leadership and help grow the agency’s visibility 

What you'll need to succeed:

  • 10+ years of communications experience within Consumer or B-to-C services, with specialized experience in working on big brands and industry experience with CPG and lifestyle or entertainment brands
  • A creative and strategic thinker for brands that want to push the envelope
  • Ability to think holistically and work with Client’s other agency partners
  • Experience in event planning and execution
  • Experience with celebrities and influencers
  • Understanding of new and emerging media
  • Team player with a no-nonsense attitude
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial, self-starter environment
  • Ability to independently and aggressively lead accounts and client contact
  • Agency experience is required
  • Exceptional presentation skills; written and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional management and mentoring skills
  • Ability to interact with and gain the trust of Senior Clients and Agency leadership
  • Ability to quickly digest Client business needs and provide strategic communications, business and marketing recommendations effectively
  • Extensive knowledge of communications industry trends and standards
  • Ability to quickly integrate into Client and Agency teams; high-level decision making skill and abilities
  • Understands organizational dynamics and use this understanding to best serve the client and agency
  • Understanding of Agency as a business and ability to run accounts profitably
