WPP Digital Lead, Ford of Europe - H+K Strategies

For this leading automotive brand, we have a ‘blended team’ approach that sees the in-house communications team working side-by-side with WPP agency consultants, all based in H+K’s offices in Clerkenwell.  This blended team works at a regional and European level to centrally develop strategy, tactics and content for execution by our client’s local, in-market teams (which are also supported by WPP PR agencies).

WPP Team Ford is a central team that provides strategic guidance to Ford Motor Company focussing on delivering events, corporate communications, content strategies and brand positioning in the lifestyle consumer space.

As part of our drive to leverage Ford into the lifestyle space, and impart more impactful and insight led campaigns, content and conversations, we are seeking to recruit an established Digital Communications and Partnerships Lead. The ideal candidate will be at the Account Director to Senior Account Director Level. The successful practitioner will work on an integrated basis across multiple WPP agencies to develop compelling insight driven concepts and content strategies for Ford Motor Company in Europe, plus work on new business proposals and development.

This role would suit a creatively minded practitioner with exceptional client management and extensive content strategy development experience, ideally gained within an agency environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to explain technical issues with clarity in a non-technical way, plus intellectual and creative curiosity to drive results.

  • Lead, define and articulate best practice and processes in developing and implementing the content and publishing strategies developed alongside Ford communications teams
  • Bring innovative new technologies and approaches in to the WPP and Ford client teams across key markets
  • Proactively recruit like-minded partners to ensure we are consistently working with best in class across new technologies and publishers
  • Experience providing high-level client counsel with ability to grow existing client relationships and identify new business opportunities
  • Share learning and be influential of implementing the ‘Content + Publishing Strategies’ model across the WPP Team Ford consultants
  • Be a magnet for smart, new talent in the agency
  • Specialise in understanding and articulating the client’s competitive landscape, make informed recommendations regarding emerging and new technologies, best in class publishing, including the programming, optimisation and community management involved in executing effective content strategies 
  • Present with insight, substance and passion both internally and externally, selling ideas you have developed and driven
  • Ensure best practices in content strategy, (video, social, website), community management, social engagement and SEO are being adhered to across all channels
