NEW YORK—5W Public Relations will provide marketing communications and crisis communications support to Queen Bee Entertainment, the recording company owned by hip-hop star Lil’ Kim and partner Hillary Weston. The firm will also provide fashion public relations for the launch of Lil Kim’s new watch, to be distributed by Jacob The Jeweler.

Ronn Torossian, president & CEO of 5W Public Relations, will serve as spokesperson for Lil’ Kim (real name Kimberly Jones), who will stand trial for perjury in February. Prosecutors say Jones lied to a grand jury investigating a 2001 shooting allegedly involving members of her entourage.

“Lil’ Kim is one of the most successful, dynamic young artists, entrepreneurs and brands in the country, and her best years are still ahead of her,” says Torossian. “We look forward to working with her to allow her fans, corporate America and the world to get to know the true Lil’ Kim: a smart, self-made, self-started woman.”

The firm’s immediate plans include developing an online community for fans to speak directly to Kim in the days leading up to her trial.
