AARP Hires Nannis to Lead Healthcare Media Relations

AARP has appointed Andrew Nannis senior manager of media relations to support AARP’s healthcare media strategy. Nannis joins AARP from the office of U.S. Senator Ken Salazar (D-Colo.), where he served as press secretary.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— AARP has appointed Andrew Nannis senior manager of media relations to support AARP’s healthcare media strategy. Nannis joins AARP from the office of U.S. Senator Ken Salazar (D-Colo.), where he served as press secretary, acting as the Senator’s spokesman, and worked with national media and congressional correspondents, drafted materials, and provided political and legislative communications counsel.

Nannis previously was Communications Director for U.S. Congressman Pete Stark (D-Cal.), where he managed all aspects of the congressman’s communications efforts. In addition, Nannis has worked for U.S. Congressman Marion Berry and has handled special projects for Senator John Kerry during his run for presidency.

Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, Nannis was director, public affairs for Pharmaceutical Research and Manufactures of America.
