WASHINGTON, D.C.— Fruzsina Harsanyi, senior vice president of public affairs and corporate communications for global power and automation technology group ABB has been named board chairman of the Executive Council on Diplomacy in America.

The Council, founded 40 years ago, is an educational forum offered as a national public service by the private sector to help the Secretary of State and the United States government promote political, economic, business and cultural relations with other countries around the world. It manages programs designed to advance the understanding that foreign diplomats have about the United States, and create opportunities for leaders from the U.S. public & private sectors to interact with them.

With offices in Washington, D.C., the Council’s work is overseen by a board comprised of private sector executives and an advisory board comprised of ambassadors.
Addressing a gathering of diplomats, U.S. government officials, and corporate Washington representatives, Harsanyi pledged to apply the original mission of the Council in the challenging world of today. Says Harsanyi, “Never has it been more important for Americans to acquaint foreigners with our culture, economic and political life. The Council has an important role in promoting international understanding through public diplomacy.”
Harsanyi is responsible for managing all government relations and communications for ABB in the United States.
