Astoria Communications has been selected by the Legal Marketing Association to conduct an extensive media relations campaign in connection with the organization’s endorsement of significant revisions to ethics rules that govern legal marketing.

SLOATSBURG, NY—Astoria Communications has been selected by the Legal Marketing Association to conduct an extensive media relations campaign in connection with the organization’s endorsement of significant revisions to ethics rules that govern legal marketing. The LMA recently adopted a position statement that supports the American Bar Association’s efforts to update ethics rules to incorporate the impact brought on by the adoption of new technologies, such as blogs. Over the next several months, Astoria Communications will work to spread awareness of the LMA’s adoption of the position statement, as well as the impact of various efforts underway in state legislatures around the country to adopt changes to rules on their own.

NEW YORK—Goodman Media International has added clients in the publishing, media, and not-for-profit sectors.  The Vermont Maple Foundation has selected Goodman for publicity for Vermont maple syrup and the small-farm culture that sustains it; The Ben Barnes Group has tapped the firm for publicity for the political memoir Barn Burning, Barn Building by Barnes, a former Speaker of the Texas House and former Lt. Governor of Texas; and Walter Dean Myers, which hired the firm for publicity for two upcoming books: Jazz and Street Love.

NEW YORK—KCSA Worldwide has been selected as the public relations agency for Reactrix Systems, developer and marketer of an out-of-home advertising medium in shopping malls and other public
venues. The Reactrix Media Network projects vivid, interactive branded experiences on the floors of high-end retail malls, movie theaters and other public spaces. Says Michael Ribero, chief executive of Reactrix: “We selected KCSA because we were impressed by the firm’s broad advertising and out-of-home media experience and strategic approach to marketing.”

MILWAUKEE—BVK, a fully integrated marketing communications firm, has been named marketing communications agency of record for Shorewest Realtors, Wisconsin’s largest homeseller.  The agency has been charged with the developing an integrated brand campaign for the company. BVK was selected for its depth of resources and expertise as well as its strong research and internet capabilities. 

CHICAGO—Zapwater Communications has been selected to coordinate the openings and lead communications efforts for two new Chicago bars, Victory Liquors and Empire Liquors, both managed by Matt Eisler, principal of Elm Street Liquors in Chicago’s Gold Coast.
