New business success at Padilla Speer Beardsley, The Morris + King, French/West/Vaughan, Goodman Media, Abel and Landis Communications.

MINNEAPOLIS—Padilla Speer Beardsley has been engaged by three new clients. SAP, a market leader in enterprise application software, chose Padilla to support four global and North American industry-specific divisions with a thought-leadership program and media relations. SurModics, a provider of surface modification for medical devices, selected Padilla for investor relations counsel and investor targeting initiatives. And Qumu, an enterprise video solutions company, retained the firm for marketing communications and media relations services.

NEW YORK—The Morris + King Company has been retained by ABC Carpet & Home, a New York-based luxury home and lifestyle store focused on sustainable living, which has partnered with Yoko Ono, who will be designing her first major installation since celebrating her 80th birthday—window displays urging New York to “Imagine No Fracking.”

RALEIGH, NC—Optek Music Systems, manufacturer of the Fretlight Guitar, and The Royalty Exchange, the online brokerage for the sale of music royalties, have retained the services of French/West/Vaughan’s music and entertainment practice.

NEW YORK—Goodman Media International has added two new clients: Latinum Network, to oversee all trade and consumer media relations for the company, which is dedicated to helping companies win in the multicultural economy; and Private Communications Corporation, to handle national media relations for the company’s private wifi software.

BALTIMORE—CohnReznick, the nation’s 11th largest accounting, tax and advisory firm, has selected Abel Communications as PR agency of record for its Baltimore office. Abel will provide strategic communications services with a focus on media relations.

SAN FRANCISCO—Landis Communications has added four new clients: California Society of Anesthesiologists, NorthStar Memorial Group, DDG Partners and Save the Redwoods League. They join LCI’s growing list of consumer, corporate, nonprofit and technology clients.
