DETROIT—Airfoil Public Relations has added solidThinking, a global industrial design and styling software company, to its client roster. solidThinking was recently acquired by Michigan-based Altair Engineering, a leading global provider of technology and services that empower client innovation and decision-making. Airfoil’s program for solidThinking began with a media relations campaign around the acquisition news and the global launch of solidThinking’s latest version 7.6 software. On an ongoing basis, Airfoil will provide solidThinking media relations, speaking and awards program, and marketing communications strategy and counsel.


NEW YORK—DKC has been tapped by Samuel Goldwyn Films, WGBH (PBS – Boston), and HBO to organize public affairs campaigns on behalf of three new films: American Violet, produced by Uncommon Productions for Samuel Goldwyn Films, a dramatic feature film based on the true-life story of an African-American woman in a small Texas town falsely accused of selling drugs; We Shall Remain, a five-part documentary series produced by WGBH in Boston in association with Native American Public Telecommunications; and Death on a Factory Farm is an HBO documentary that follows the investigation of an industrialized pig farm in Ohio where alleged acts of animal cruelty are taking place. 


SHARON, MA—Semaphore, a global provider of SCADA control systems, has selected Tiziani Whitmyre to provide integrated marketing communications services, including strategic marketing, web development, search engine optimization, public relations and graphic design. Semaphore products enable remote monitoring of water and wastewater treatment facilities, power stations, transportation facilities, and other business and government operations that rely on outlying facilities.


NEW YORK—Abelson Group, a marketing and communications firm dedicated to the technology and telecommunications sectors, has been selected by DataMotion, a leading provider of data governance services, as its public relations and industry analyst relations agency of record. DataMotion selected Abelson based on the agency’s industry relevant expertise in vertical and enterprise media and industry analyst relations. Abelson Group director Ilona Mohacsi will manage the relationship.


CHICAGO—Zapwater Communications has added Bar DeVille to its client roster. This is the fourth concept for which Zapwater and nightlife veteran and serial entrepreneur Matt Eisler have teamed up. Zapwater has been retained to spearhead media relation and coordinate opening logistics Zapwater will also serve as the personal publicist to Matt Eisler. Zapwater Communicationshas also added Halo [For Men] salons and spas to its growing client roster. The firm has been retained to continue media relations for Halo [For Men], officially open the new Lincoln Park location and raise the salon’s local and national profile. Zapwater will also launch and provide publicity for the all-new Urban Joe concept conceived by Halo¹s Robert Patrizi and for Nicholas Joseph Custom Tailoring located in the Halo [For Men] salons in the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park.


BOSTON—PerkettPR, a technology public relations, social media, marketing and communications firm, has added two client partnerships, with Contactual and Litle & Co. Contactual delivers on-demand contact center software, while Litle & Co. provides the newest generation of payment processing systems.


HOBOKEN, NJ—Litzky Public Relations has been named agency of record for SwimWays Corporation, a leader in leisure and recreational water products with best-selling products such as Rainbow Reef, Toypedo, Swim Steps and Spring Float. LPR  has been retained to provide strategic public relations counsel in 2009 and to increase exposure for the company's 'Back to Pool' and Swim Steps initiatives.  LPR will also promote the Kelysus line of outdoor gear.
