The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has chosen Hill & Knowlton as its first-ever public relations partner, plus new business for Kaplow, Rogers Group, KCSA, Columbus PRCo, Litzky, Formulatin, Carolyn Izzo, Krupp Kommunications, Phelps Group, French/West/Vaughan and JS2.

CANNES—The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, formerly the Cannes International Advertising Festival, has chosen Hill & Knowlton as its first-ever public relations partner. The name change, according to an announcement last week, was in keeping with the festival's evolution from the TV advertising festival into a celebration of "creative excellence in all forms of communication."


NEW YORK—Cosmetic Executive Women, a leading professional organization that advances the development of women leaders in the beauty industry, has selected Kaplow as its agency of record for public relations. Kaplow will support CEW's mission of advancing the professional growth and development of women in the beauty industry in addition to promoting various events and programs such as the Women in Beauty Series discussions, Newsmaker Forums, Cancer and Careers, and the Beauty Awards.


LOS ANGELES—Toy company Ridemakerz, which allows kids of all ages to customize toy cars, has selected The Rogers Group as its public relations agency of record after a competitive agency search. TRG will develop and implement public relations programs for Ridemakerz, focusing on traditional and online media outreach for its current offerings and new product rollouts.


NEW YORK—Marchon3D, which manufactures passive 3D eyewear that doubles as sunglasses, has hired KCSA Strategic Communications as its public relations agency of record. The company is a division of VSP Global, which provides vision benefits, services, products and solutions to the optical industry worldwide.   KCSA has been working with VSP Global for more than three years, and was retained to commercially launch Marchon 3D glasses into the marketplace. The firm will target both consumer media and the business and marketing communities.


NEW YORK—Columbus PRCo had added Whythebest? Hotels, a new Italian hotel group, to its client roster. Columbus PRCo will act as agency of record, promoting the hotel group and launching its newest 5-star property the Grand Hotel Villa Cora.


HOBOKEN, NJ—Litzky Public Relations has been named agency of record for 4all by Jofit, which specializes in creating high quality women’s tennis, golf and fitness apparel with a focus on design and a commitment to providing the perfect fit for all women.4all is currently working with Guidance Counsel, a branding communications firm to grow the brand and increase awareness with tennis and golf enthusiasts.


NEW YORK—Formulatin, a Hispanic public relations boutique agency, has been selected to introduce Voxy, a mobile language-learning program that teaches English by turning current events into fun and effective lessons accessible via digital platforms. Formulatin’s media relations campaign will generate awareness and trial of Voxy among Hispanics by highlighting its mobility, affordability, and topical language lessons. Efforts will focus on Hispanic media in key markets, including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Miami, supported by a national overlay.


NYACK, NY—Mexican vacation destination Los Cabos has renewed its contract with New York public relations firm Carolyn Izzo Integrated Communications for 2011. CIIC will execute a strategic public relations campaign for the destination, marking the 10th consecutive year of collaboration. The “Los Cabos Confidential” PR campaign will focus on tactical media relations, press trips, executive media tours and press receptions in major markets, business-to-business initiatives, celebrity outreach, social media brand awareness, print, online and broadcast promotions and more.


NEW YORK—GoFit, a leader in home fitness products, has named Krupp Kommunications as public relations agency of record for the re-launch of the exercise and fitness program, Jane Fonda’s Workout . K2 will provide brand management and consulting, as well as all national media relations to advance overall brand recognition for the new DVD series and exercise products.


SANTA MONICA, CA—The Phelps Group has added zpizza as a client. The agency will relaunch the company’s brand and implement a complete integrated marketing communications program on behalf of zpizza, a California-inspired, healthy-alternative pizza chain. The firm’s efforts will include media relations, social media, and guerilla tactics.


RALEIGH, NC—The Wilmington Convention Center has engaged French/West/Vaughan to provide public relations support and strategic counseling to help further establish Wilmington’s meeting and convention business. “One of the things that really drew us to French/West/Vaughan was their dedicated travel & tourism division,” says WCC General Manager, Susan Eaton. “The agency has a wealth of national and regional experience promoting destinations, facilities and venues and working with meeting & convention planners, so we felt that they were a perfect fit to help us reach our goals.” 


NEW YORK—JS2 Communications has been selected by YottaMark to promote the company’s HarvestMark food traceability platform.
