MARRIOTSVILLE, MD—Maroon PR has added four clients to the agency’s growing roster.  The firm was retained as agency of record by USA Football, the sport’s national governing body on the youth, high school, and international amateur levels; Ultimate Baseball Online, an interactive video game and community for baseball enthusiasts; Ripken Quickball, the official grassroots sport of Ripken Baseball and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation; and Renegade, a full-service production, advertising, marketing and creative agency.

LONGWOOD, FLGilbert Manjura Marketing has been selected to handle the marketing and public relations efforts for South Florida-based Power Trip Beverages, one of the fastest-growing energy drink companies in the country. GMM will focus on positioning Power Trip’s four energy drink brands as the best tasting, highest quality and most powerful and vitamin-packed energy drinks available on the market and will develop regional publicity campaigns, traffic-driving retail programs, sponsorship agreements, grassroots programs and promotions in existing markets in an effort to increase brand recognition, sales and distribution.

ATLANTA—Brandware Public Relations, a boutique firm specializing in the automotive, powersports and enthusiast product categories, has been retained by Malibu, Calif.-based CurtCo Media to handle its family of publications targeted to affluent readers. Brandware will partner with CurtCo to develop media opportunities for titles such as luxury lifestyle authority Robb Report, ShowBoats International, and Art & Antiques. Brandware’s West Coast office in Agoura Hills, Calif. will provide account leadership and provide media relations and event-based public relations programs. The agency’s Atlanta and New York offices will also provide media relations and support services.

MIAMI—rbb Public Relations has been selected by AMResorts to lead national public relations campaigns for Secrets, Dreams and Sunscape Resorts & Spas.  The exclusive resort properties join rbb’s roster of travel and tourism clients including Costa Maya, Lionstone Development and The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, South Beach.

SILVER SPRING, MD—Strategic Communications Group has been selected as agency of record by Altron, a leading provider of professional services to government customers. Strategic will provide media outreach, messaging and positioning support as well as blog and website content development. Along with targeted media and industry analyst outreach, Strategic will assist Altron in launching an executive blog as well as providing comprehensive website content support.

NEW YORK— Dukas Public Relations has been retained by six technology clients including Auctionblip, buy at, Inc., Sepaton and Zeta Interactive, expanding its tech practice by 60 percent.

CHICAGO—Zapwater Communications will handle all media relations and logistics for an event to celebrate Illinois filmmaking at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. The event, hosted by Flashpoint, the Academy of Media Arts & Sciences, will recognize the Illinois Film Office and honor the festival premiere of  The Merry Gentleman, directed by Michael Keaton and filmed entirely in Illinois.

NEW YORK—Emrise Corp., a multinational manufacturer of defense, aerospace and industrial electronic devices and communications equipment, has selected Allen & Caron as its agency for investor relations and corporate communications.
