CHICAGO—Ruder Finn has added Widevine Technologies to its client roster. Widevine is an emerging leader in the IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) content security space and is up against stiff competition from some of the world’s biggest companies including Microsoft and Apple. The account will be serviced out of Ruder Finn/Chicago.  The account team is led by senior vice president Kristie Heins Fox, co-director of the firm’s technology practice, and Charlotte Walker, vice president. The effort will include directing media relations, with a heavy focus on the national business press.

SAN FRANCISCO—Citigate Cunningham has added music startup Fuzz to its diverse client portfolio. Fuzz is combining a next-generation music label, an artist promotion platform and an interactive community of artists and fans, empowering artists to take control of and manage their music careers as a business and connect more deeply with fans.  “We chose Citigate Cunningham to lead our PR initiatives based on the agency’s strong reputation, innovative ideas and proven expertise in working with technology and startup clients,” says Karen Chakmakian, Fuzz vice president of marketing.

NEW YORK—The Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau has retained New York-based travel and tourism public relations specialist M. Silver Associates as the organization’s first-ever marketing communications firm to launch the new Mexican destination in the United States and Canada.  M. NEW YORK—Trylon SMR has been selected by Independent Features as agency of record to handle public relations for all its media relations requirements surrounding the Independent Features Film Festival.

SAN DIEGO—Ichor Medical Systems, which markets the TriGrid Delivery System to increase the effectiveness of DNA drug and vaccine delivery, has selected Gable PR to manage its public and media relations programs. The public and media relations program will be managed by Tom Gable, CEO, and Erin Koch, account manager.
