The tourism and lifestyle practice at Edelman has added new clients, including an assignment to promote tourism to the state of Maharashtra, India, for the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation in the U.S. and France.

CHICAGO—The tourism and lifestyle practice at Edelman has added new clients, including an assignment to promote tourism to the state of Maharashtra, India, for the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation in the U.S. and France; managing the launch of the Conrad Hotel in Chicago; promoting and Expedia’s World Heritage Alliance Program for Expedia; launching a series of new experiential tours for Grayline Worldwide; and providing a comprehensive PR program for British Airways in several countries in Asia Pacific.

NEW YORK—Cubitt Jacobs & Prosek has been named public relations agency of record in New York and London by Jefferies Group, a full service international investment bank. CJP New York and London will be providing communications consultancy, research services, and media relations execution, in support of the company. Early 2006 client wins for CJP’s financial group also include broker dealer Edward Jones, $5 billion private equity firm First Reserve Corporation, U.K.-based Hiscox Insurance and GE Commercial Finance. 

SAN FRANCISCO—MSR Communications, which provides communications management services to emerging-growth technology and consumer companies, has been named the agency of record for Xceedium, a provider of centralized, policy-based, secure access for IT operations management. The firm also added account director Chris Blake to its staff and relocated its office to Jackson Square, San Francisco. Most recently, Blake represented Dolby Digital Cinema, Cloudmark, Cinea, and others while at mPRm and Manning, Selvage & Lee.

SAN FRANCISCO—Citigate Cunningham has been selected as U.S. public relations agency of record for Corporation, one of China’s leading e-commerce companies. Citigate Cunningham, in conjunction with sister agency, Citigate Dewe Rogerson, will execute a global public relations campaign for’s U.S. account will be led out of Citigate Cunningham’s Cambridge, Mass., office by executive vice president Melissa Brenton, with bi-coastal support from the agency’s San Francisco office.

NEW YORK—Kerzner International has retained two New York public relations firms—Laura Davidson Public Relations and Susan Magrino Agency—to launch the Phase III expansion of its flagship property, the Atlantis, Paradise Island. The project will feature a 600 room all-suite hotel tower, an addition to Atlantis’ water-based attractions, a new two-story spa and the opening of celebrity chef Bobby Flay’s restaurant Mesa Grill. The agencies will work together with Kerzner’s in-house PR team to implement a comprehensive public relations and strategic marketing campaign over the course of the next year culminating with a Spring 2007 launch. LDPR will focus on travel, family, spa and trade media and SMA will handle luxury, fashion, design and culinary media.

TORONTO—ATI Technologies Inc., a leader in the graphics industry, has selected High Road Communications as its public relations agency of record for North America. ATI provides graphics in desktop and laptop PCs, digital televisions, cell phones and video game consoles worldwide. High Road will work closely with the company to develop an integrated communications strategy to build brand awareness.

NEW YORK—TPI, an advisor to global corporations on all facets of their service strategies for business support functions, has selected Peppercom as agency of record for the Americas. Peppercom will launch an aggressive media relations campaign to help further establish TPI’s leading position in the sourcing advisor industry and educate the marketplace on the various service delivery options for business support functions.

LOUISVILLE, CO—Certus Corporation has hired CTA Public Relations to implement a national public relations program. Certus is a privately held, leading provider of revenue cycle and government reimbursement services to health systems, hospitals and physician groups.

THOUSAND OAKS, CA—The David James Agency has added Newnham Technology to its client list.  Newnham Technology is a semiconductor manufacturer, and the agency will provide public relations support as the company builds its presence in the U.S. market.

ELKHART, IN—Gateway Builders & Properties named Holt Communications agency of record for all of the organization’s public relations needs. Gateway is a large regional commercial builder and property developer based in northern Indiana. Holt Communications will be responsible for marketing communications, media relations, and government and community relations.
