Edelman has added the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center to its technology and business marketing practice. The CEC has engaged Edelman to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy.

CHICAGO—Edelman has added the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center to its technology and business marketing practice. The CEC has engaged Edelman to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to strengthen the company’s brand and increase awareness of its impact and resources for Chicagoland region entrepreneurs. The CEC assists high-growth businesses, primarily in the professional services, technology, retail, real estate, fashion and food service industries. It is a nonprofit affiliate of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and since 1999 has helped entrepreneurs and high-growth businesses build viable, sustainable and profitable enterprises.

SAN FRANCISCO—Access Communications has added three new clients in the mobile entertainment, security and networking sectors: Glu Mobile, Guard ID Systems and Streamcore System. Glu Mobile develops and publishes games for mobile devices. Guard ID develops technology protecting consumers who bank, shop and invest online against identity theft. Streamcore develops network optimization technology.

SAN FRANCISCO—WeissComm Partners, a communications agency focused on the healthcare industry, has added several new product, corporate communications and investor relations assignments, including Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Adventrx Pharmaceuticals, Optimer Pharmaceuticals and Prestwick Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, the agency was selected for disease awareness campaigns for leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the areas of neurology, gastroenterology and diabetes.

SILVER SPRING, MD—Strategic Communications Group has renewed its relationship as public relations agency of record for Microspace Communications Corporation, the leading provider of point-to-multipoint satellite services to distribute digital video, data and audio.  Microspace operates one of the largest global business satellite broadcasting networks. Strategic will launch an integrated corporate communications and industry awareness program to raise Microspace’s profile within the digital signage and digital cinema markets.

MINNEAPOLIS—Olson has added Lumber Liquidators—one of the largest independent retailers of flooring in the country—to its client roster. Lumber Liquidators offers a wide selection of pre-finished and unfinished hardwood flooring brands, including Bellawood. Olson will be responsible for increasing awareness of Lumber Liquidators through traditional media relations and helping with integrated marketing of Lumber Liquidators’ involvement in HGTV’s Design Star.

CORAL GABLES—Johnson & Wales University has selected rbb Public Relations as agency of record to conduct a public relations campaign for its Florida campus. Johnson & Wales University chose the firm because it believes the university’s community outreach and educational programs deserve more recognition.

ALBANY, NY—Sawchuk Brown Associates has added The Center for Disability Services to its healthcare practice client roster. Founded in 1942, The Center is a regional healthcare provider and offers residential, vocational and educational services.

HOLLYWOOD, FL—Florida-based O’Connell & Goldberg and the firm’s DreamWalk Creations division have been selected to provide a variety of public relations services for Fontainebleau Las Vegas and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza.
