RICHMOND, VA—CRT/tanaka has been retained as public relations agency of record by Bissell Homecare to provide strategic public relations planning, media relations, promotions, sponsorships and word-of-mouth marketing.  Bissell makes a full line of vacuum cleaners, sweepers, steam cleaners, deep cleaners, and cleaning chemicals for home use and is the seventh oldest privately held manufacturing company in the United States.


EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—Everlast, a global leader in the design, manufacturing, licensing and marketing of authentic boxing, has chosen MWW Group as its public relations agency of record.  Everlast’s 100 year anniversary is approaching in 2010 and MWW Group will help guide the company’s communication strategy and provide media relations, business-to-business and branding support. MWW will also help guide Everlast’s penetration into the mixed martial arts category and help to introduce new product lines.


LOS ANGELES—Hispanic marketing specialist VPE Public Relations has been awarded the contract to support First 5 LA’s goals to promote and develop the early care and education workforce.  As part of its four-year contract, VPE will implement a multifaceted approach to support First 5 LA’s high school recruitment and address the challenges facing providers and the industry. First 5 LA is a child-advocacy organization created by California voters to invest tobacco tax revenues in programs for improving the lives of children in Los Angeles County, from prenatal through age five.


DETROIT—Airfoil Public Relations has added ecostore, a brand of sustainable, eco-friendly, plant-based household, personal, baby care and pet products company, to its client roster. Airfoil will provide national, regional, and local media relations for ecostore, as well as digital brand development including blog support and outreach. Along with helping to brand ecostore domestically, Airfoil will also aid ecostore in grassroots marketing and event support.


MINNEAPOLIS—U.S. Energy Services, an energy management services provider, has selected Tunheim Partners to support its public relations efforts. Tunheim will provide strategic counsel and public relations support to supplement U.S. Energy Services’ marketing efforts. The agency also will generate and increase brand awareness for U.S. Energy Services and raise visibility of the company’s service offerings and executive leadership through national, trade and local media relations.


WASHINGTON, D.C.—Core180, a telecommunications network integrator, has hired Environics Communications to develop and implement its 2009 public relations program.  Environics will be providing message strategy, ongoing media relations, industry analyst relations, special events and trade show marketing to Core180. "We selected Environics because of its demonstrated track record of working with business-to-business companies in the technology and telecommunications industries,” says David Baule CEO of Core180.


LONDON—Radisson Edwardian has selected MMG Mardiks, a New York-based firm specializing in travel and tourism, as its agency of record to promote 13 hotels  in London and Manchester.  The agency's first task is to launch the Radisson Edwardian Bloomsbury Street Hotel following a £25 million renovation. The expanded partnership comes as a result of the firm’s work on the launch of The May Fair hotel in London, which completed a $150 million renovation in November 2006. 


BUFFALO, NY—Integrated marketing communications firm Travers Collins & Company has been engaged by Buffalo Niagara Enterprise to a develop comprehensive public relations campaign in key target industries in support of the organization's business development and recruitment efforts. BNE provides comprehensive economic development assistance and is the marketing, business and economic development organization for the region. This campaign is being funded by a grant from National Grid, an investor of BNE.


MINNEAPOLIS—Hazelden Foundation, a national  non-profit organization with locations in Minnesota, Oregon, Illinois and New York that helps people reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction through treatment and continuing care, publishing, research, education and advocacy, has chosen Maccabee Group as its new public relations agency.


WASHINGTON, D.C.—Widmeyer Communications has added two clients to its higher education roster. The firm will provide research and strategic communications services to the College of the Holy Cross and Shepherd University.
