NEWBURYPORT, MA—Verizon Wireless has retained Matter Communications for public relations support in New England. Verizon selected Matter to craft and implement tactical public relations campaigns that increase the company’s visibility in traditional and online media. “Matter Communications not only demonstrated a clear understanding of our company and the industry, but a keen sense of the both the mainstream and non-traditional media landscape in New England,” says Michael Murphy, New England region public relations manager, Verizon Wireless.


MIAMI—rbb Public Relations has been named agency of record for American Airlines Arena, home of the 2006 NBA Champions Miami Heat and the venue of choice of the Latin Music industry. rbb will provide strategic communications, brand marketing and trade relations support. “rbb has the experience, creativity and media expertise necessary to support AmericanAirlines Arena’s continued success and brand development,” says Eric Woolworth, president of the Heat Group. “rbb will be a key part of our strategic marketing communications to local and national consumer and trade audiences.”


LOS ANGELES—Englander & Associates, a strategic communications firm specializing in crisis communications, litigation support, public relations, public affairs and issues management, has added eleven new clients since January 1. New Englander clients include Starwood Energy Group, Enterprise Rent A Car, Trillium, Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, Areas USA, Newport Power, Lynx Realty, Henry's Hat and Goldilocks Restaurants, Cambra and the successful Yes on P campaign in Beverly Hills.


SAN FRANCISCO—Fineman PR has added two new clients to its roster: Marin Healthcare District and Morton’s The Steakhouse for its San Jose location. Fineman is providing issues management and community relations assistance to Marin Healthcare District for the end of the management lease of Marin General Hospital by Sutter Health. International restaurant group Morton’s Steakhouse, selected Fineman as agency of record for its San Jose location. The firm will manage media and community relations promoting the restaurant in the South Bay market.


DENVER—JohnstonWells Public Relations has added two new clients to its roster: Boatz Knutsen and the American Institute of Architects Colorado. Boatz Knutsen is a communication consulting firm that works with leaders who value communication as a driving force in organizational transformation. AIA Colorado is the voice of the architecture profession in the state.


NEW YORK—Dukas Public Relations has added two new clients to its roster in February: the asset management firm West End Financial Advisors, which will be served by DPR's financial public relations practice; and Global Capacity, a telecommunications information and logistics company, which will be managed by the firm's tech PR group.


ATLANTA—Arketi Group, a high-tech business-to-business public relations and marketing firm, has been selected as public relations agency of record by GMT Corporation, a leader in workforce management and performance optimization solutions. "We were impressed with the depth of Arketi's high technology experience, especially in the contact center and financial services markets," says Kevin Hegebarth, vice president of marketing at GMT. "To compete in today's environment, we needed a partner who can get up to speed quickly on our complex offering and markets, as well as represent us internationally.”


LOS ANGELES—Bob Gold & Associates, a cable TV-focused boutique public relations and marketing agency, has added R.L. Drake to its client roster. Drake arms multi-channel service providers with the technical solutions they need to efficiently upgrade their video networks and effectively compete in the residential, enterprise and hotel environments. Gold & Associates is charged with managing marketing and PR support of the Drake Digital line of video technology.


NAPA—Benson Marketing Group has been retained by Interloire and the Bureau Interprofessionel des Vins du Centre, the two associations representing the wine producers and grape growers of the Loire Valley, to conduct a three-year marketing campaign in the United States. The account team will include staff members from the agency’s offices in New York City and Napa, California. The campaign has a budget of 3.4 million Euros and includes a broad spectrum of programs and services including public relations, promotions, digital media, advertising, research and more, as well as maintaining a Loire Valley Wine Bureau in New York City.


BALTIMORE—Imre, a full-service marketing agency, has added NAVA, the Association for Insured Retirement Solutions, to its financial services practice. Imre will provide an integrated mix of creative strategy, public relations, media planning, and digital services to increase awareness for NAVA, a leading association for information and tools related to insured retirement solutions, such as annuities.


MARRIOTTSVILLE, MDMaroon PR, a sports and entertainment public relations firm, has been selected by Baltimore Orioles’ outfielder Nick Markakis to perform a number of activities on his behalf. The firm will help Markakis and his wife, Christina, form a non-profit organization that will improve the lives of children throughout Maryland and will work to broaden Markakis’ national brand as a Major League Baseball player through media outreach and the formation of strategic partnerships.


NEW YORK—Leslie Seppinni, a doctor of clinical psychology and licensed marriage family therapist, has named Krupp Kommunications as her public relations agency of record. K2 will consult and collaborate with Seppinni and her team to draft overall brand messaging, and develop and execute a strategic and integrated marketing and public relations plan.  K2 is also charged with vetting any speaking, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities for Seppinni.


MILWAUKEE—Zizzo Group Advertising & Public Relations, an integrated marketing firm has been selected as the agency of record for Faith Technologies, the largest electrical contractor in Wisconsin. ZGA+PR will work with Faith Technologies on an integrated branding and marketing program which includes strategic planning, employee communications, website development, direct marketing, public relations, media planning and buying, advertising, and creative services.
