NEW YORK—Goodman Media International has added four new clients in the publishing industry: Ian Fleming Publications for public relations support in the United States in conjunction with the 100th anniversary celebration of the birth of Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond series; Children’s Book Council, for publicity in connection with the launch and appointment of the nation’s first National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, Jon Scieszka; Island Press, for public relations counsel, with a specific focus on positioning and promoting Alan Rabinowitz, author of Life in the Valley of Death; and Walter Dean Myers, for the launch of Game, the latest novel for young adults by this New York Times bestselling author.


SAN FRANCISCO—Shift Communications has been named public relations agency of record for both The Rubicon Project, based in Los Angeles, and Powerset, headquartered in San Francisco. The Shift team will provide corporate positioning, strategic messaging, social media consulting and media relations execution to help The Rubicon Project and Powerset raise awareness of their companies, grow product sales and establish industry thought leadership.


ALEXANDRIA, VA—Livingston Communications has hired Qui Diaz as director of strategy. Diaz will direct accounts and personnel and will also become an active voice on the firm’s The Buzz Bin blog. Previously, Diaz was a digital strategist for the 360° Digital Influence group of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where he work included coordination and promotion of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Pandemic Flu Leadership Blog. Prior to Ogilvy PR, Diaz served in various communications-capacities the National Council of Nonprofit Organizations.


NEW YORK—MWW Group has added FreeFi Networks to its client roster. MWW Group will help FreeFi develop partnerships with a wide variety of content providers, public venues, and advertisers by generating strong trade and public awareness of the start-up company. FreeFi Networks provides advertising/content-supported free Wi-Fi for public venues that serve transitory populations including airports and hotels.

NEW YORK—Brand communications agency Middleton & Gendron has added three new clients: Black Tomato, a U.K-based bespoke travel company; Altour, a high-end, worldwide network of travel agents; and The Jefferson, a 99-room boutique hotel in Washington, D.C. 


LOS ANGELES—Amy Levy Public Relations has added two new clients to its roster: The Survivor Mitzvah Project, a non-profit organization, and the restaurant group Coral Tree Café.
