Edelman has been selected as public relations agency of record for Texas Back Institute, one of the largest freestanding spine specialty clinics in the United States with seven locations in Texas and Arizona.

DALLAS—Edelman has been selected as public relations agency of record for Texas Back Institute, one of the largest freestanding spine specialty clinics in the United States with seven locations in Texas and Arizona. Edelman’s Dallas office will lead efforts for the Institute nationwide with support provided by Edelman specialists in other offices as necessary. “Edelman has established itself as the leader in healthcare public relations,” said Debbie Weeaks, director of business development for Texas Back Institute. “We were impressed by the experience, enthusiasm and insights Edelman Dallas brought to the table as well as the firm’s national relationships and reach.”

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Levick Strategic Communications has added several new clients including Eversheds, a full-service law firm, to construct a publicity campaign for an evolving new business model; River Ranch Fresh Foods, a major produce grower/shipper, to inform consumers that the FDA has approved its Popeye brand spinach; Special Olympics, to conduct global publicity for the summer 2007 Olympics in China; National Volunteer Firefighters Council, to inform Americans of the importance of volunteering and to help recruit new volunteers through publicity; and Stew Leonard’s, the supermarket chain, to design and implement a crisis plan.

NEW YORK—Lou Hammond & Associates has added four accounts along with a special project for the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau. The new accounts are Las Colinas Live!, a $650 million entertainment destination scheduled to open in 2009; One Key, a destination club; Emerson Resort & Spa, which opened in March just two hours from New York City in the Hudson Valley; Promontory: The Ranch Club, a 10-square-mile recreational second home and private ranch club community in Utah’s Rocky Mountains.

SILVER SPRING, MD—Tellabs Government Systems, a division of Tellabs focused on serving the telecommunications needs of government customers, has selected Strategic Communications Group, as its PR agency. Strategic is executing an integrated corporate visibility and federal market awareness campaign to raise Tellabs Government Systems’ federal IT market profile and build credibility among media and analysts.
NEW YORK—Frederick Wildman & Sons has selected Lisa Lori Communications to handle public relations, marketing and strategic events for Folonari, Santi and Melini lines in its Italian wine portfolio.  LLC has been the agency of record for Folonari Pink Pinot Grigio since April 2006. The firm is creating a national pubic relations plan that includes both trade and consumer publicity to build awareness among the core audience of each of the brands.

PROVIDENCE—Duffy & Shanley today announced the addition of new client, Gamer Graffix, a leading producer of video game accessories.  The agency will oversee the development of public relations and marketing tactics to raise brand awareness and visibility for the privately-owned company.

SANTA CLARA, CA—Young & Associates has been retained by Innovectra, ERE Media and Pace Harmon to manage their public relations programs.

NEW YORK—Mouth Public Relations has signed The Globe Pequot Press and its imprints to its roster of clients.  Inger Forland, GPP’s executive director of marketing, PR, and design, hired the firm to publicize key titles during the year, as well as pitch the coimpany’s catalog every season to the national television, radio and print media. 

LOUISVILLE, CO—The Rocky Mountain Cement Council, the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association, the Colorado Rock Products Association and the Colorado/Wyoming Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association have engaged CTA Integrated Communications to create a No More Potholes consumer action campaign in the Denver area.

CHICAGO—Zapwater Communications has added K. Amato, a Chicago-based accessories company, to its client roster. Zapwater plans to launch the jewelry company, currently available in 50 stores across the country, nationally as well as targeting regional publications where the jewelry is sold. Zapwater will also provide assistance in debuting new collections and lines.

LAS VEGAS—The Firm Public Relations & Marketing has been retained by IntelliBed to handle the company’s Las Vegas public relations and marketing programs.
