New business success for Environics, Fineman PR, Makovsky, Jackson Spalding, French West Vaughan, Outreach Strategies and Parasol.

WASHINGTON, DC—The Advertising Council, on behalf of the US Forest Service, has hired Environics Communications to develop and implement a social media program to support its Re-Connecting Kids with Nature national public service advertising campaign. Environics will conduct blogger outreach; manage the campaign’s Twitter feed, YouTube channel and Facebook page; and create a social media toolkit for strategic partners that will include sample blog and Facebook posts and tweets, links, and a widget linking back to the website.

SAN FRANCISCO—Fineman PR added three clients to its roster: Imfuna, a start-up offering a technology platform for collecting, storing, and sharing data about the condition of any physical asset, particularly real estate; the National Outdoor Leadership School, a school for outdoor training in the wildest and most remote classrooms from the Amazon rain forest to Alaskan glaciers and the Arctic tundra; and Sterling Meat Company, one of the largest animal protein providers on the West Coast.

NEW YORK—Women 2.0, a social venture focused on increasing the number of technology companies founded by women, has selected Makovsky + Company to develop and execute a communications campaign to raise awareness of the organization, its growing community of founders and investors, and its newest spin out, Founder Labs.

ATLANTA—Jackson Spalding’s JS Creative division is the new agency of record handling all marketing and advertising work for Primrose Schools, a national leader in early childhood education. The business includes a national online, interactive ad campaign and local print, digital and radio advertising for the franchise company’s 225 schools in 30 U.S. markets. It also includes national media planning and buying, advertising, and promotions support for the market cooperatives in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver and Houston as well as strategy and support for local school marketing. Jackson Spalding has been the PR agency of record for Primrose since 2008.

HOUSTON—All-Pro running back Arian Foster of the Houston Texans has engaged Raleigh-based French/West/Vaughan as his new marketing and public relations agency of record. Foster, a second-year pro who led the National Football League in rushing and touchdowns last season, joins Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick and retired NFL great Simeon Rice as clients in FWV’s sports marketing and entertainment properties division, led by former San Antonio Spurs sales and marketing executive Jay Wisse.

WASHINGTON, DC—Outreach Strategies, a public affairs firm focused on sustainability, energy, natural resources and other environmental issues, has added AGree, a new food and agriculture policy initiative funded by eight major foundations, as a new client.

NEW YORK—Parasol, a brand marketing and communications firm specializing in the luxury lifestyle and hospitality industry, has been retained as agency of record to spearhead the US and UK media relations for Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve property located in Southern Thailand.
