New business for H+K Strategies, Environics, Cohn & Wolfe, Emerging Media, Zapwater, Pollack and 5W.

DALLAS—The Harold Hamm Diabetes Center at The University of Oklahoma has engaged Hill+Knowlton Strategies as its agency of record. The account will be led by H+K Strategies’ Dallas office with support from the Austin, New York, Tampa and Washington, DC, offices. The firm will be working with HHDC on promoting its mission and positioning the Center as a leader and innovator in the field of diabetes. The multi-year project will include global strategic communications, media relations and social media work.

WASHINGTON, DC—The Epilepsy Foundation, the national voluntary agency dedicated solely to the welfare of the nearly 3 million Americans with epilepsy and their families, has hired Environics Communications as its new public relations agency. Environics will develop and implement a national public relations campaign to raise awareness of the Foundation as an expert resource on epilepsy. The PR program will include traditional and social media relations, as well as special events, community relations and speaking engagements, to reach both the general public and healthcare professionals.

NEW YORK—LexisNexis Risk Solutions has hired Cohn & Wolfe for public relations support to raise awareness for its risk mitigation and fraud prevention unit through media and analyst relations, thought leadership and content development.

NEW YORK—The Company Store, which produces US-crafted bedding essentials, décor, down comforters and sumptuous sheets, has selected Emerging Media as its agency of record. Emerging Media will manage The Company Store and CompanyKids brands’ strategic messaging, media relations, corporate social responsibility and product placement efforts.

CHICAGO—Zapwater Communications has added two new national consumer brands—Bakers Square and Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt—to its client roster. Bakers Square retained Zapwater to oversee all media relations, promotions, and events for the restaurant’s upper-Midwest locations. Yumz has given the firm responsibility for all media relations, promotions, events, and future store openings.

NEW YORK—The Pollack PR Marketing Group has been retained by Stiles Associates to lead public relations efforts to generate media-focused market awareness. Stiles is a retained search firm that specializes in “lean” executive talent. “We selected PPMG because of its understanding and knowledge of our unique market focus and solid track record of working with companies focused on lean and six sigma,” said Jake Stiles, president.

NEW YORK—5W Public Relations has added Promises Treatment Center to its roster of health and wellness brands. 5W will execute a public relations program designed to increase awareness of the company with the goal of becoming recognized as the category leader.
