DETROIT—Weber Shandwick has been appointed public relations agency of record for MGM Grand Detroit, a unit of MGM Resorts International. The firm will lead a comprehensive communications program to elevate MGM Grand Detroit's position as a leading entertainment destination and will drive awareness of the hotel's corporate social responsibility initiatives, community partnerships and volunteer programs.

LOS ANGELES—The Recording Academy, a trade association that represents all music creators, has selected Finn Partners to help boost its advocacy presence on Capitol Hill as Congress prepares to overhaul copyright laws that determine how creators are compensated for the use of their work. Finn Partners has already helped the Academy grow its annual In My District Day, an advocacy event for music policy. The account is co-managed by Finn Partners' Washington, DC, public affairs and advocacy team under Jessica Berk Ross and its Los Angeles entertainment practice, led by Hope Boonshaft.

NEW YORK—Ruder Finn has been named public relations agency of record for LAFCO, Luxury Articles & Fragrance Co., a fragrance and body care company. The agency will help shape and expand the reach of the LAFCO story and increase overall brand visibility. The account will be based out of the agency’s New York office and includes brand development, media relations, executive thought leadership and content development activity.

NEW YORK—Turner has added several clients to its travel and tourism roster, including Q&A Residential Hotel, a short-stay experience from furnished apartment provider Furnished Quarters; Vidanta, a collection of seven distinct luxury properties and six different resort hotel brands; Smith Fork Ranch, a luxury guest ranch in the West Elk Range of the Rocky Mountains. The firm has also been named agency of record for travel insurance brand World Nomads.

RALEIGH, NC—French/West/Vaughan has been selected as PR, marketing and sponsorship development agency of record for National Pro Fastpitch, the women’s professional softball league.

CHICAGO—3rd Coast PR has been selected as agency of record by Lifes2Good North America for its new pet supplement brand Pettura. The firm will provide public relations strategy, ideation and program activation in the US to help launch the brand by creating strategic programs to build awareness and excitement around Pettura’s five liquid canine health supplements.

BOSTON—PAN Communications has been named the agency of record for Maestro Health, an employee health and benefits company with the a platform for delivering an all-in technology-meets-service solution for brokers and HR professionals.

LOS ANGELES—Skypicker, an airfare shopping engine, has chosen full-service public relations agency Bob Gold & Associates to lead its North American public relations program.

OAKLAND, CA—Hydrapak, which offers hydration solutions for “performance-driven people,” has selected Buffalo Brand Invigoration Group to lead a PR program spurring awareness, affinity and sales in the United States.

RALEIGH, NC—MMI has been selected by SciMetrika, a population health consulting company, for brand strategy, creative and public relations services.

NEW YORK—Stephanie Gotch PR has been tapped to represent Leaf, the 20-year-old singer and rapper signed to Fool's Gold Recs/RPM MSC.
