New business success for GolinHarris, MWW, French/West/Vaughan, Maroon, Hawkins, Cheryl Andrews.

NEW YORK—GolinHarris has been named public relations AOR for Prestige Brands, a provider of brand-name over-the-counter products, including Dramamine, New Skin, Clear Eyes, Beano, FiberChoice, Efferdent, Little Remedies, Chloraseptic, PediaCare, Luden’s, Goody’s and BC. The agency will support Prestige Brands’ portfolio in the areas of brand awareness, consumer marketing, media relations and social media. The account is led by Jen Dobrzelecki, executive director in New York, with the work split between the New York and Los Angeles offices.

NEW YORK—MWW has added two new clients to the firm’s retail and e-commerce group led out of the agency’s New York and San Francisco offices. MWW will introduce UK-based Qubit, which helps e-commerce companies leverage data to convert more shoppers to buyers, to the US market through a nationwide communications program, targeting media, analysts and industry influencers. And the firm will expand the US presence of Synqera, a Russian company that uses big data-driven technologies to help retailers create personalized, multi-channel communications, through a media and investor relations plan targeting key business, retail and technology outlets.

RALEIGH, NC—NFL defensive lineman Chris Canty of the Baltimore Ravens has selected French/West/Vaughan as his public relations, marketing and endorsement agency of record. FWV will work with Canty to develop his brand, vet corporate partnership offers and promote The Chris Canty Foundation, which utilizes the platform of sports to provide and support programs for children of all ages and backgrounds.

RICHMOND, VA—The Colonial Athletic Association has engaged Maroon PR and the Leffler Agency to provide public relations and advertising services respectively, promoting the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship, which will be played March 7-10, 2014 at the Baltimore Arena. Maroon PR will focus on media relations, social media and strategic partnerships, while the Leffler Agency will develop advertising strategies for ticket sales.

NEW YORK—Hawkins International has added five new clients to its luxury-focused portfolio. The firm will handle North American media relations for Gramercy Park Hotel; Sofitel, with 120 addresses across nearly 40 countries; ACCOR Hotels, which includes the Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel, and other brands; Novotel New York Times Square; and Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa, for which the firm will also handle social media strategy.

CORAL GABLES, FL—The Tourism Board of Costa Rica, Instituto Costarricense de Turismo, has selected Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications as its global public relations agency of record. CAMC was selected to spearhead all of the country’s public relations initiatives for the United States, Canada, Europe and all relevant markets. The firm will execute a comprehensive public relations campaign highlighting Costa Rica’s culture and tourism opportunities.
