NEW YORK—Edelman has named Adam Hirsch to its Edelman Digital team as senior vice president of emerging media and technology. In a newly created position, Hirsch will help operationalize new partnership opportunities, platforms and technologies on behalf of Edelman Digital’s clients throughout the world. He will report to Kevin King, global practice chair, digital.

Hirsch will also help educate Edelman Digital staff and clients around the world on emerging industry trends and technologies

Hirsch most recently served as chief digital officer for DoSomething.org and is currently an advisor to Mashable.

From 2007 to early 2012, he was Mashable’s chief operating officer and played a critical role in the development of Mashable from a small blog into a well-regarded media company. He oversaw business growth, including marketing, partnerships, advertising and events. Hirsch also helped drive key initiatives such as the Social Good Summit, the Open Web Awards (now known as the Mashable Awards) and Mashable Follow.
