Ketchum has promoted Deanne Yamamoto from executive vice president and associate director of Ketchum West to associate director of Ketchum North America’s global brand marketing practice.

LOS ANGELES—Ketchum has promoted Deanne Yamamoto from executive vice president and associate director of Ketchum West to associate director of Ketchum North America’s global brand marketing practice. In her new role, Yamamoto will help grow the agency’s Women 25 to 54 initiative and assist with knowledge sharing, new business and training. Yamamoto has been part of the Ketchum network for almost a decade, having started her tenure in the New York office and then eventually moved west to Los Angeles. Prior to joining Ketchum, she was a vice president for Golin/Harris International’s consumer practice.

SAN FRANCISCO—Allison & Partners has named Phil Carpenter as general manager of its San Francisco office. He will lead the office and new business initiatives in the areas of consumer, professional services, consumer technology and nonprofit and government affairs. Prior to joining Allison & Partners, Carpenter served as vice president of marketing for Simply Hired, a search engine for job seekers. Before that, he was vice president of corporate marketing for SideStep and held marketing management roles at RemarQ, PointCast, Intuit and Mozart Systems. He also worked at Regis McKenna.

NEW YORK—Hill & Knowlton has hired Claudine Moore as U.S. director of business development and marketing. Moore, based in New York, will report to U.S. chairman MaryLee Sachs. She joins H&K from WPP sister G2 where she was responsible for the corporate communications for G2 Branding & Design and G2 Promotional Marketing. She also has worked with McCann-Erickson as the worldwide public relations and business development manager and iCrossing, an interactive agency.

NEW YORK—Gibbs & Soell Public Relations has promoted Ann Camden and Kerry Henderson to senior vice presidents and elected them shareholders in the agency. Camden and Henderson both are located in the agency’s Raleigh office and have more than 23 years of G&S experience between them.

CHARLOTTE—Ketchum Sports Network, the agency’s sports marketing unit, has expanded into Charlotte, NC, with the addition of account supervisor Patrick Smith. Smith will lead NASCAR-related public relations efforts for clients in the financial and beverage industries. Prior to joining KSN, Smith worked at Alan Taylor Communications.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Troutman Sanders Public Affairs Group, the public affairs unit of international law firm Troutman Sanders, has hired Patrick Baskette as president of its public policy group. He will manage the firm’s state lobbying network, procurement work, as well as its federal coalition and grasstops practice. Baskette comes to Troutman Sanders from The Dewey Square Group, where he coordinated the firm’s grassroots and coalition services from 1997 to 2006.

KANSAS CITY—Jennifer Baldridge has joined Germinder & Associates as vice president and managing director of the firm’s Kansas City office. Baldridge previously held positions at Barkley Evergreen & Partners and Sturges Word in Kansas City.
