Ogilvy names Haiken senior VP in corporate practice, plus new people in new positions at Gibraltar Associates, Manning Selvage & Lee, W2, John Bailey & Associates, and Connect2 Communications.

SAN FRANCISCOOgilvy Public Relations Worldwide has added Beth Haiken as senior vice president in the corporate practice. Haiken has a background in financial services public relations, crisis communications, internal communications, corporate identity and brand management. Prior to joining Ogilvy, she headed global public relations for The PMI Group, a mortgage insurance and credit enhancement company in the Bay Area. Before that, she worked for Providian Financial in San Francisco.


WASHINGTON, D.C. Gibraltar Associates has hired Yier Shi as a vice president in the Washington, D.C., office and.will oversee a range of issue-advocacy and corporate communications accounts. He comes to Gibraltar from FD Dittus, where he was senior director in the food, health and nutrition group and played a role in tripling the size of the practice during his two-year tenure. Previously, Shi was a senior communications advisor at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, where he managed the 40-person office of public affairs.


TORONTOManning Selvage & Lee's Toronto office has appointed Ian Blair as senior vice president and head of the Canadian corporate practice. Blair has over 20 years of experience in the communications industry and brings a wealth of financial and international experience to his new role.  Prior to joining MS&L, he was vice president of corporate communications at Hill & Knowlton
