New people in new roles at Weber Shandwick, Spectrum, Rasky Baerlein, MWW, Carmichael Lynch Spong, Blaze, and Nancy Friedman.

NEW YORK—Weber Shandwick has named Jane Barandes as general manager and co-lead for the firm’s New York digital operation. She will work with Jason Wellcome, executive vice president and general manager of the firm’s Mediaco unit, to continue grow and diversify the firm's digital offerings. Most recently, she served as 360i’s New York managing director. Prior to that she was senior vice president of marketing at Publicis Modem, where she co-managed the General Mills business.

WASHINGTON, DC—Rosalba Cano has rejoined Spectrum, one of the nation’s leading independent health and science communication firms, as vice president. She will provide counsel to pharma, biotech and non-profit clients on communications programs and will lead scientific communications efforts for a global consumer products company. Prior to rejoining the agency, Cano led advocacy relations, stakeholder engagement and public education campaigns at Edelman in Washington.

BOSTON—Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications has added Lisa Salerno as associate vice president in the healthcare practice. She will advise clients on the evolving healthcare marketplace. Prior to joining Rasky Baerlein, Lisa managed public policy at Network Health, a Medicaid managed care organization and served as principal staff for Congressman James P. McGovern (D-Mass.) for eight years.

NEW YORK—MWW has promoted Kas Rigas to managing director of the firm’s consumer lifestyle marketing practice. Since joining MWW as senior vice president in 2010, Rigas has worked on clients in the health and wellness, automotive and travel sectors, including Leggett & Platt, Atkins Nutritionals, Subaru of America, Aetrex, Frontier Airlines and Luxury Retreats. Prior to MWW, she spent six years at DKC Public Relations & Integrated Marketing, and worked with Ruder Finn and Rubenstein Communications.

MINNEAPOLIS—Emily Florin has joined Carmichael Lynch Spong as managing counselor in the firm’s New York City office. In this role, she will lead client work and teams in both New York and Minneapolis. Florin returns to agency life after working for two years at Mindspark Interactive Network, an IAC Company, where she drove the company’s media presence and developed a speaking platform for company executives. Prior to Mindspark, Florin was a vice president at Edelman.

LOS ANGELES—Blaze has appointed Erinn Lynch as vice president, providing account leadership on hospitality, non-profit and Santa Barbara area clients. She joins from the national non-profit, Dream Foundation, where she was VP of marketing and corporate relationships. Prior to Dream Foundation, Lynch worked for hotel magnate and beanie baby creator, Ty Inc., and worked at Blaze parent company Davies.

NEW YORK—Nancy J. Friedman Public Relations has hired Julia Fleischaker as media director. Fleischaker comes to NJFPR from a 13-year career at Penguin Books, most recently as director of publicity.
