New people in new roles at Ketchum, MWW Group, Aorfoil, 5W, Stanton, Capstrat, and Fetching.

NEW YORK—Ketchum has relocated Marc Drechsler, the co-founder of the company's Ketchum Pleon Financial unit, from Dusseldorf, Germany, to New York, where he will drive the firm's financial communications offering. Drechsler, senior vice president, financial communications, will join Ketchum's international group, headed by Paul Cohen. Prior to founding Pleon Financial, Drechsler helped establish international financial communications agency Citigate Dewe Rogerson in Germany and, earlier, worked as foreign currency trader with Commerzbank in New York.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—MWW Group has promoted John Ferrari to senior vice president, finance. Ferrari, who previously served as a vice president within the finance department, will help to oversee the management and development of the firm’s financial framework and organizational infrastructure. He joined MWW Group in January 2000 as assistant controller. Previously, he had worked as a senior financial analyst at Asarco.

SOUTHFIELD, MI—Airfoil Public Relations has added nine employees to its account and operations teams in Southfield, Mich., and Mountain View, Calif., including three senior account executives: Katy Teer, formerly a public relations and marketing consultant at Terumo Heart; Kristen Berry; and Sadie Kelly. In addition, Elaine Marquis joins Airfoil as an account executive and Dave Niemiec, Lindsay Karpinskas, and Oriana Camacho join as account coordinators. On the operations side, Nicole Steward joined Airfoil’s California office to manage office operations and provide administrative support and Zakia Beshara joined the Michigan office as an operations assistant.

NEW YORK—5W Public Relations has hired Harris Theophanous as vice president to work in the firm’s fashion and lifestyle division. Most recently, Theophanous was fashion media director at M Booth & Associates, where he supervised accounts including jcpenney. Previously Theophanous was the acting in-house PR Director at Brown Shoe, where he worked on well-known brands including Via Spiga, Carlos by Carlos Santana, Original Dr. Scholl’s, Naturalizer, and Franco Sarto.

WASHINGTON, DC—Stanton Communications has added Amy Bowman to its Baltimore office as an account manager. Bowman0 brings nearly 10 years of public relations and agency experience to the firm. In her previous role as a senior account executive at Baltimore-based public relations, marketing and advertising firm Imre, she was responsible for media relations programs for divisions within industry-leading companies such as Deere & Company, Stanley Black & Decker and The Home Depot.

RALEIGH, NC—Capstrat has added Nathen Hinson to the firm’s interactive practice as senior developer responsible for developing open source content management systems to help Capstrat’s clients manage and grow their websites. Hinson has more than 14 years of development experience, and before Capstrat worked as a software engineer at SteepRock where he was responsible for developing a web-based CRM system for product development used by nearly 70 pharmaceutical companies.

TAMPA—Fetching Communications, a communications agency serving the pet and veterinary marketplace, has added Joanna Smiley as account manager and Halley Hadfield as an interactive account manager with a focus on launching and maintaining each client’s presence across social media platforms.
