WASHINGTON, DC—Public affairs firm Gibraltar Associates has hired Hope Boonshaft as executive vice president and general manager of the firm's Los Angeles office. She brings experience in branding, corporate communications, crisis and issues management, litigation support, public affairs and consumer marketing and will also lead the firm's entertainment and technology practices. Prior to joining GA, Hope led Hill & Knowlton's Los Angeles and Irvine offices She also spent 10 years at Sony Pictures Entertainment as executive vice president of external affairs.

MINNEAPOLIS—Carmichael Lynch Spong has named Emily Buchanan senior principal and chair of brand marketing and social engagement, based in the firm’s Minneapolis headquarters. Prior to joining Carmichael Lynch Spong, Buchanan was senior vice president and deputy practice director for MSLGroup’s consumer marketing practice in New York, where she worked with clients including Kellogg’s, HJ Heinz, Hennessy,, Outback Steakhouse, and Evian.

ST. LOUIS—Standing Partnership has added Chris Uithoven as vice president of healthcare. Uithoven oversees Standing’s work for Ranken Jordan, a pediatric specialty hospital; Missouri Foundation for Health; the St. Louis Behavioral Health Network; among others. Uithoven previously served as director of individual giving at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Gateway area chapter, and as director of strategic initiatives at KETC/Channel 9.
