Rogers & Cowan has promoted Heather Krug to executive vice president, plus new people in new places at Kountoupes Consulting, WordWrite Communications, and McNeill Communications Group.

LOS ANGELES—Rogers & Cowan has promoted Heather Krug to executive vice president. Krug has been with the agency for more than eight years and has developed and managed a wide variety of strategic marketing and publicity campaigns for major consumer brands, entertainment properties and sports organizations, including General Mills, Diageo, Coca-Cola, NASCAR, NHL, NTRA, PGA TOUR, NBC Poker and The Golf Channel to name a few. Also, as a result of the growth of the consumer sports division, Glenn Lehrman has been promoted to account director and Vanessa Kromer has joined the agency as account director. 


WASHINGTON, D.C.Kountoupes Consulting, a government affairs consulting boutique, has named Lori Denham as a principal. Denham joins Kountoupes Consulting after nearly two decades on Capitol Hill and in the private sector.  Most recently, she served as executive vice president of government affairs and industry operations for the Retail Industry Leaders Association, representing retailers including Best Buy, Gap, Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Walgreens, and Wal-Mart. Prior to joining RILA, Denham worked on Capitol Hill for more than 13 years for Rep. Cal Dooley (D-Cal.), where she served as his legislative director and chief of staff.


WEXFORD, PA—WordWrite Communications has hired veteran communicator Bob De Witt as senior strategist. He will provide strategic marketing and communications counsel and media relations for WordWrite clients. De Witt has worked in journalism and public relations for more than 25 years. Most recently he served as director of marketing and communications for the Boy Scouts of America, Greater Pittsburgh. De Witt previously was media spokesman for United Way of Allegheny County and news director of KDKA-AM.


HIGH POINT, N.C.—Holly Francis has been named vice president of strategic communications for McNeill Communications Group, public relations and marketing agency. In her new position, Francis is responsible for overseeing client image development and positioning, strategic planning and goal setting services and education training services. Most recently, she served as director, internal communication for internet consulting firm marchFIRST in Chicago. Prior to joining marchFIRST, Francis spent nearly three years as a vice president with Ketchum.
