NEW YORK—Montieth & Company has added Robert Schulman, Peter Firestein, and Howard Tomb as senior advisors. Schulman has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, including key roles at E.F. Hutton, Smith Barney and Shearson Lehman and currently manages his own advisory firm. Firestein is president and CEO of Global Strategic Communications and an expert in helping managers build support among investors and social stakeholders. Tomb helped Philip Morris USA make its shift from combat to cooperation in the 1990s, followed by roles at Weber Shandwick and McKinsey & Co.

WASHINGTON, DC—Qorvis Communications has added D. Archibald Smart as partner. Smart will lead Qorvis’ digital and interactive services teams. Most recently, he managed online and digital political strategies at Targeted Victory, including one of the current US presidential campaigns. Prior to joining Targeted Victory, Smart worked at NJI Media and Young & Rubicam where he spearheaded digital initiatives for major brands such as American Express, Diageo, Nautica, and Elizabeth Arden.

TORONTO—Hill+Knowlton Strategies has added Anne Kothawala as vice president and group leader of the Toronto public affairs team. Kothawala previously worked in public affairs roles at the Canadian Restaurant & Food Services Association, the Retail Council of Canada, and the Canadian Newspaper Association, where she ultimately served as president and CEO.

NEW YORK—M&C Saatchi PR has added Beth Garcia as vice president to direct several of the agency’s key accounts. She joins from Goodman Media, where she spent seven years working on a variety of accounts in the media, entertainment and healthcare sectors, and on campaigns such as the redesign of The Wall Street Journal and the launch of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.

NEWBURYPORT, MA—Matter Communications has added Ruth Bazinet, previously with Roger Williams University in and Schwartz Communications, as an account manager in its Providence, RI, office; Susan Peters, formerly with Ketchum and GolinHarris as a director; and Jennifer Karin, who brings experience from Citigate Cunningham, Mullen Advertising, and Miller Communications, as an account leader.
