NEW YORK—RLM Finsbury has hired Matt Miller as senior advisor, working on corporate reputation and issues management, public affairs, thought leadership and media relations. Miller is a weekly columnist for The Washington Post and host of “Left, Right & Center,” public radio’s political week-in-review program.  He appears frequently on MSNBC, CNN and CNBC.  He previously wrote a nationally syndicated column for Tribune Media Services, and served as a guest columnist for The New York Times op-ed page. Miller is also a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. Earlier in his career, he served as senior advisor in the White House Office of Management & Budget and special assistant to the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission.

NEW YORK—Consumer marketing and branding veteran Joanne Freed has joined 42West to spearhead its brand communications specialty. Freed most recently led the entertainment group at Hunter PR, where clients included Kraft Foods grocery division (Jell-O, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Grey Poupon, A1, Maxwell House) and Mondelez business (Halls, Chips Ahoy!). Earlier, she was vice president, public relations, at Fuse TV, the music television network.

MIAMI—Mari Santana has joined RockOrange as the agency’s vice president of multicultural marketing and brand development, and Sergio Claudio joins as VP of digital innovation and strategy. Santana comes to RockOrange after more than 15 years working with Disney Destinations and Parks & Resorts, where she launched theme parks, a cruise line, shopping and entertainment centers, national tours and attractions. She also worked in broadcast journalism, with eight years in the general market at WPIX New York, and almost 10 years at WNJU-TV Telemundo New York. Most recently, Claudio served as interactive creative director for Omnicom Group’s Zimmerman Advertising, working with brands including White Castle, Party City, Carfax, Toys ‘R Us, Pep Boys and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

DETROIT and SILICON VALLEY—Airfoil has promoted Andy Kill and Tim Wieland each to vice president positions. Kill and Wieland served as account directors for the firm prior to assuming their new roles.  
Kill, based in the firm's Silicon Valley office, joined Airfoil in 2005 and has worked on accounts including eBay Motors, Survey Monkey and Plex. Wieland, based in the firm's Detroit headquarters, recently celebrated ten years with the company and has worked on Microsoft SMB (Small and Midsized Business), eBay, Parrot, Faurecia and FordDirect.

BOSTON—Tier One Partners has named Laureen McGowan Sanderson a partner in the firm, which serves clients in the technology, financial services and energy sectors. Sanderson, who joined Tier One Partners in 2012 as a senior vice president, leads the firm’s green energy practice area. Previously, she was executive vice president at Greenough Communications, where she spent 12 years, and earlier held roles at The Weber Group, and law firm Morrison & Foerster.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—CommCreative, which works with clients in the high-tech, healthcare, energy, and financial services industries, has named Ashley DePaolo as director of strategic communications. She leads a team focused on public relations, corporate communications and crisis management. Prior to joining CommCreative, DePaolo was vice president at Schneider Associates, a Boston-based public relations agency.

LOS ANGELES—ARC2 Communications & Media, a boutique healthcare communications agency, has appointed Darby Sedighan as vice president.  Sedighan joins ARC2 from Hill+Knowlton Strategies, where she led a number of accounts for that firm's healthcare practice.

NEW YORK—Liberty Communications, the integrated digital communications consultancy, has hired Michael Draznin as senior consultant to create and drive marketing and communications programs in the US and North America. He was previously head of his own consulting firm, and before that managing director of McKinney Communications Group.

TAMPA, FL—Fetching Communications, a PR and marketing agency for the pet and veterinary industries, has appointed Dave Payne as vice president, client services. Payne joined Fetching in 2011 as an account manager.
