CHICAGO—Edelman has named Steve Slivka senior vice president and group creative director of Edelman Digital, in its Chicago office. Slivka will report to David Armano, managing director, Edelman Digital, Chicago. He joins from Mullen, a Boston-based full service integrated advertising agency, where he built the creative social-digital team at the agency’s North Carolina outpost and was responsible for creating content for clients such as Tresemmé, CSX and Honda Jet. Prior to Mullen, Slivka spent a decade at Leo Burnett in Chicago and also launched his own boutique agency, Colossal Squid Industries.

ATLANTA—Fleishman-Hillard Atlanta has added Becky Biggs as a managing supervisor to its corporate financial practice group. Biggs joins Fleishman-Hillard after serving as the first-ever director of public relations for the Technology Association of Georgia, where she was responsible for promoting the state as a leader for technology business, talent and innovation. Biggs started her career as an associate news producer for WFMJ-TV 21, the NBC-affiliate station in Youngstown, Ohio.

MEMPHIS, TN—archer>malmo, a marketing communications agency, has added veteran public relations professional Naomi Bata (pictured) as chief public relations officer. Bata brings more than 15 years of communications experience across consumer, corporate and healthcare sectors and will report to Russ Williams, the agency’s CEO, overseeing the firm’s public relations and experiential marketing divisions. Bata is a former vice president at Cohn & Wolfe in Chicago, where most recently she worked with Asia Pulp & Paper, the world’s third-largest paper company.

FORT WORTH – Open Channels Group, a multicultural PR agency, has hired Larry Powell for its newly-created position of chief strategy officer. Powell, who joins from Sanders\Wingo Advertising, will be tasked with new business, company branding and positioning, as well as digital production. The agency has also hired Anthony Spangler, former communications director for Texas State Senator Wendy Davis, as VP of corporate communications and promoted Kimberly Sims to VP of public involvement.

NEW YORK—M&C Saatchi PR New York has added Richard Barker as vice president to oversee its sports and entertainment offering, recently named agency of record for the United States Olympic Committee. He joins from M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment in London, where he spent three years managing sponsorship and PR activation, working with Reebok and Castrol. Earlier, he was part of the sports team at Four Communications.

TAMPA—Tucker/Hall has named Stephanie Amberg vice president at the firm. Amberg was a senior communications advisor at Tucker/Hall in the mid-1990s focusing on public relations and marketing strategies in the areas of commercial real estate, tourism and hospitality and luxury brands. She returned to the firm in 2012 after serving as vice president of public relations at OSI Restaurant Partners, (recently renamed Bloomin' Brands).

BALTIMORE—Abel Communications has added Courtney Benhoff as account manager and promoted Adam Curtis and Lauren DeTroia. Benhoff joins Abel from Marketplace Books, where she managed the development, production, and marketing of educational content for the trading and finance industry. Curtis was promoted to account manager and DeTroia was named assistant account executive.
