Edelman has hired Jennifer Little as senior vice president, consumer brands in the Dallas office, plus new people in new positions at Carmichael Lynch Spong, John Bailey & Associates, Cushman/Amberg and Nelson Schmidt.

DALLAS—Edelman has hired Jennifer Little as senior vice president, consumer brands in the Dallas office. Little will be responsible for all consumer work in Edelman’s Dallas and Austin offices as well as new business development and will report to Teresa Henderson, regional general manager, Edelman Southwest. Prior to joining Edelman, Jennifer was the director of public relations for Pizza Hut in Dallas where she handled strategic PR planning and issues/crisis management, as well as the Book It! program and other community initiatives.


MINNEAPOLIS—Denise Dixon Leach and Martine Larson have been promoted to counselors at Carmichael Lynch Spong. Dixon Leach joined the firm as a senior associate in November 2005 and is responsible for clients Cargill Salt, Hasbro Games and Supervalu. Prior to joining the firm, Dixon Leach was an account executive with Gibbs & Soell in New York City. Larson joined Carmichael Lynch Spong in October 2007 as a senior associate and serves in account and project management roles for American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning and Jack Link’s Beef Jerky. Previously, she was a member of the Fleishman-Hillard office in Minneapolis.


TROY, MI—John Bailey & Associates Public Relations has promoted Michelle Culver and Emily Gerkin Palsrok to senior vice president. Culver joined the JB&A team in 2003 and has served as senior counsel to clients including International Automotive Components, R. L. Polk & Co., DuPont Automotive and the Society of Automotive Engineers Detroit Section. Palsrok also joined JB&A in 2003 and has spent the majority of her time heading up the Lansing office where she serves a variety of clients including those who have issues before the state Legislature. She has also served as senior counsel to a variety of clients including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the Campaign for Smokefree Air, Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards and Michigan Association of United Ways.


CHICAGO—Cushman/Amberg Communications has promoted Karyn Odway to vice president in the company’s Chicago office. Odway, who previously served as an account director, has been with the agency since 2007. She has experience in media relations, crisis communications, strategic planning, message development and brand communications. Her industry experience includes healthcare, business-to-business and corporate communications. Odway began her public relations career as a spokesperson for the University of Chicago Hospitals. She then worked independently as a media relations strategist with clients such as Loyola University Health Systems, Protected Tomorrows, and Erikson Institute. Prior to that, she spent 14 years as a television journalist, working as an anchor and reporter.


MILWAUKEE—Nelson Schmidt, a full-service marketing communications agency located in downtown Milwaukee, has named Marty Ellery as vice president, pubic relations. Ellery will lead the agency’s public relations practice with responsibility for strategic planning, new business development and internal and external agency communications. She was most recently director of public relations for Milwaukee-based Hanson Dodge Creative.  Prior to that, she was director of agency communications for Chicago-based Cramer-Krasselt.
