WASHINGTON, DC—Widmeyer Communications has named Mark Levine as senior counsel to the firm.
Levine is the 71st Assembly District Democratic Leader and was a New York state Senate candidate in 2010. Most recently, he served as founding executive director of the Center for After-School Excellence at TASC (The After-School Corp.), building a professional development system for the after-school field supported by robust research and evaluation. Previously, he helped lead a national non-profit, One Economy, in providing technology to residents of affordable housing.

CHICAGO—Flowers Communications Group, a specialist in multicultural communications, has appointed Ignacio Carrillo (pictured) as vice president in its FCG Latino practice. Carrillo has previously held senior-level posts at the Experiencia Agency, Weber Shandwick/Axis, and The Jeffrey Group.

NEW YORK—Michael Echter has been appointed director of client engagement and growth at Publicis Consultants USA, part of MSLGroup. Previously, Echter led new business activity for MSL New York, where he helped secure wins like Amazon.com, Outback Steakhouse and the global AOR assignment for United Technologies. Prior to joining MSLGroup in 2000, Echter held senior positions at a number of top agencies, including Burson-Marsteller, NW Ayer, Gillespie/McCann-Erickson and PR21/Edelman.

MINNEAPOLIS—Carmichael Lynch Spong has named Jaclyn Grossfield social media specialist and counselor, based out of the firm’s Minneapolis office. In this new role, Grossfield will be responsible for account service, media relations and social engagement initiatives for clients Sherwin-Williams, Martek Biosciences and Jack Link’s Beef Jerky. She comes to Carmichael Lynch Spong from Noodles & Company where she was a social media specialist.

CHICAGO—O’Reilly/DePalma, which provides marketing and public relations support in the building and architectural sectors, has added Leslie Hart as a New York-based partner, after several years of project collaboration. Hart, the consumer insights columnist for Kitchen & Bath Design News, Hart will be advising on strategy and providing execution for O’Reilly/DePalma clients targeting consumers and the design community.
