Weber Shandwick names John Beale executive vice president in the firm’s global technology practice, plus new people in new postions at Carmichael Lynch Spong and Kearns & West.

SEATTLE—Weber Shandwick has named John Beale executive vice president in the firm’s global technology practice. Based in Seattle, Beale will be responsible for developing new business and support existing clients through the creation of marketing and corporate positioning programs that help enhance the performance and reputation of those companies.  He reports to Casey Sheldon, global technology practice chair. Beale previously was vice president of marketing for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, the company’s semiconductor division and spent more than 10 years in Asia, working for Burson-Marsteller in Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo. Most recently, he led marketing for Volantis Systems, a U.K.-based wireless software company.

 

MINNEAPOLIS—Maria Reitan has been promoted to senior principal at Carmichael Lynch Spong and will continue to chair the firm’s lifestyle marketing and marketing to women special service groups. Reitan joined Carmichael Lynch Spong as a senior counselor in 2003, managing clients American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning, MasterBrand Cabinets, Therma-Tru Doors and Hasbro Games. Prior to CLS, she spent 15 years in television news as an Emmy Award-winning news director, producer, reporter and writer. In addition, Jillian Beauman was named senior associate.
