WASHINGTON, D.C.— Gregg Rothschild, a former senior aide in both the House of Representatives and the Senate has joined The Glover Park Group as a managing director in its government relations practice. Most recently, Rothschild was the chief counsel and deputy chief of staff to the House Committee on Energy & Commerce and a principal aide to chairman John Dingell. Previously, he worked at Verizon Communications where he served as vice president and policy counsel, federal government relations.
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Marilyn Berry Thompson, currently executive vice president for government relations, has been named general manager and executive vice president for MWW Group’s Washington, D.C. operations. Current general manager Timothy Yehl is remaining with the firm in a part time capacity, changing his role to senior counselor to MWW Group. In addition, Yehl will form a new company, Tim Yehl LLC, to work on entrepreneurial ventures.
MINNEAPOLIS—Keith Negrin has joined Minneapolis-based agency Maccabee Group Public Relations as senior counselor. Prior to joining Maccabee Group, Negrin served as director of public relations for advertising agency Morsekode and as public relations counselor with Carmichael Lynch Spong, where he worked with such clients as Hasbro Games, Clorox and Jack Link’s Beef Jerky.
ATLANTA—Carabiner Communications, a public relations firm that serves start-up and fast-growth technology companies, has named Kathy Cabrera as director of new media to lead the rollout of a new social media and video service, SocialConnector. Cabrera will help create new programs spanning online group building via LinkedIn, Twitter and individually branded communities; blog monitoring and posting; and online video and podcast creation and distribution. Cabrera joined Carabiner Communications in 2005 as an account director and writer.
