Olson has expanded its PR group with the addition of Alan Newbold as vice-president, director of public relations, plus new people in new roles at GolinHarris, 5W, PAN Communications, HKA, JPR, DDC Advocacy and The David All Group.

MINNEAPOLIS—Olson has expanded its PR group with the addition of Alan Newbold as vice-president, director of public relations. Newbold had created campaigns for brands across consumer lifestyle and tech, financial services, and health and wellness sectors for New York agencies Ketchum, Edelman and Emanate, and Minneapolis’ Carmichael Lynch Spong.


CHICAGO—GolinHarris has appointed Clinton Schaff as vice president in the agency’s digital and interactive media group, Dialogue. Schaff will be based in the Los Angeles office and report to Jeff Beringer, global Dialogue practice leader, and Judy Johnson, regional managing director of the West. Schaff formerly was director of new media at Roll International in Los Angeles where he founded and led the interactive communications practice, working on brands including Fiji Water, Teleflora, Wonderful Pistachios and POM Wonderful. 


NEW YORK—5W Public Relations has hired Olga Shmuklyer as senior vice president in its corporate and public affairs practice. Prior to joining 5W Shmuklyer was vice president at Rubenstein Public Relations and also held positions with Hill & Knowlton. Previous client experience includes Akamai Technologies, Charles Schwab, Motorola, PanAmSat, Time Warner Cable and Trump SoHo Hotel & Condominium.


ANDOVER, MA—PAN Communications has promoted the heads of its technology, consumer and professional services portfolios to vice presidents at the agency. The firm has named Jane Carpenter as vice president, consumer; Jennifer Meyer and Jason Ouellette as vice presidents, technology; and Jodie Wertheim, vice president, professional services. In addition Cathy Rogers has been named vice president, human resources and Gary Torpey is now vice president, finance.


TUSTIN, CA—HKA Public Relations has added Kevin Twer as senior vice president. Twer, in the newly created position of senior vice president, will play a key management role in the operations and expansion of the firm, reporting to HKA founder and president Hilary Kaye. He previously held management positions at Irvine-based Hill & Knowlton and Paine PR.


SAN DIEGO— Christia Gordon , who began her career at JPR in 2006, has returned to the firm’s west coast office as director of publicity after a short move to the east coast and helping to launch the New York City office. In addition, Suzanne Brose has been hired as a senior publicist in the San Diego office and Lindsay Schropp and Allison Frazier have been named junior publicists. On the east coast, Calee Brean and Molly Leibowitz have joined the New York office as a junior publicists focused travel and hospitality clients.  


WASHINGTON, D.C.—DDC Advocacy, the leading full-service advocacy firm, has added PAC and grassroots expert Stephanie Mikos as vice president. Mikos was recently senior manager of product adoption at Cvent, and previously spent over a decade at Aristotle International as vice president of PAC and grassroots.


WASHINGTON, D.C.—The David All Group has hiredAaron Conroy as creative director and Meghann Olshefski as talent and events manager. Conroy is the former owner of the acclaimed Sole Classics Sneaker Boutique in Columbus. For the time being, Aaron will serve as the creative hub for DAG client teams and internal development from the West Coast. Olshefski officially joins the David All Group after years as a valued consultant and all-around friend of the firm in her role as director of the Leadership Institute's employment placement service.
