Personnel moves at Gagen MacDonald, Citigate Cunningham, and Karwoski & Courage.

CHICAGO—Gagen MacDonald, a strategic communications and employee engagement firm, has hired Bob Garcia, formerly of Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting. Garcia previously worked as director of organizational capabilities for the Kohler Co.; as chief learning officer for International Truck & Engine Corp.; and as director of organizational development and employee education for Tenneco Packaging (now PacTiv and Packaging Corporation of America).

SAN FRANCISCO—Technology public relations specialist Citigate Cunningham announced three senior management promotions. On the West Coast, the firm has promoted Melissa Sheridan to executive vice president. Based in Citigate Cunningham’s San Francisco office, Sheridan leads some of the firm’s largest accounts and is responsible for business development, winning key client accounts such as BigFix and Keynote. Scott Malinowski, a 10-year PR veteran, has been appointed executive vice president and general manager and Sandy George has been appointed vice president in the Boston office. 

MINNEAPOLIS—Karwoski & Courage Public Relations has promoted Michael Gugala to account group director. Since joining Karwoski & Courage in 1999, Gugala has played a role in the development of several of the agency’s healthcare accounts and leading internal programs designed to enhance the agency’s client service, culture and resources.
