MINNEAPOLIS—Carmichael Lynch Spong has promoted David Kargas and Maclaren Latta to principals. Kargas, an eight-year Carmichael Lynch Spong veteran, currently leads the firm’s Denver office, while Latta, a six-year veteran of the firm, works from Bozeman, Montana. Prior to joining Carmichael Lynch Spong, Kargas worked at Bozell Kamstra, a Minneapolis advertising and public relations firm. Latta’s background includes handling public relations and events for Big Sky Resort, operating a marketing consulting business and serving four years as a U.S. Senate staff member in Washington, D.C.
BOSTON—Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications has added Beth Bresnahan as an associate vice president for clients in the financial services, real estate and retail industries. Prior to joining Rasky Baerlein, Bresnahan served as the director of communications for the Massachusetts State Lottery, where she developed and executed all aspects of the media, public and community relations programs. She previously spent five years as press secretary and legislative director for the state Department of Housing & Community Development.
RALEIGH—Capstrat has added three new employees to its creative and interactive team. Anson Burtch comes to Capstrat as a broadcast producer, having previously worked for McKinney & Silver. Ben Requena joins as a senior graphic designer. And Laura Bryant joins Capstrat as an associate Web producer.
BOSTON—Sharon Merrill Associates has named Paul Sagan vice president. Sagan will strengthen the firm’s financial media relations and corporate communications practice in addition to counseling clients on investor relations and transaction communications issues. Sagan returns to Sharon Merrill Associates after five years. He previously held senior communications positions at Thermo Electron Corporation, Allmerica Financial and Camp Dresser & McKee.
