A 16-year veteran of the firm, LaBar heads its sustainability and corporate social responsibility practice and co-directs its energy and natural resources practice. Before joining Dix & Eaton, LaBar spent 12 years in the local and trade press as an editor for EHS Today, a monthly magazine serving the occupational safety and health and environmental management fields.

CHARLESTON, WV—Lou Hammond & Associates has added seven new team members to its Charleston office, including Melanie Mathos as vice president. Previously, she directed public relations for Blackbaud, a leading global provider of software and services for nonprofit organizations.

NEW YORK—Isabelle Lindenmayer has been named vice president of healthcare consultancy Rabin Martin, supporting the firm’s global health and access portfolio. Prior to joining the firm, Isabelle led the International Planned Parenthood Federation's health system strengthening work and the organization's Latin American HIV portfolio. She has also worked at the Clinton Foundation's Health Access Initiative.

CHICAGO—Alpha IR Group, a Chicago based investor relations consulting firm, has named Michael Cummings as an executive vice president and general manager of its Boston group. Cummings joins Alpha IR after seven years serving as senior vice president and general manager in the strategic communications practice of FTI Consulting. Previously, he was a VP at Ashton Partners. The firm also named Sam Gibbons—also from FTI—to help oversee the day-to-day operations of its Chicago office.

HOUSTON—Fifth Ring, a public relations agency specializing in the energy industry, has appointed Erica Holloway as PR account director in its Houston office.  Prior to joining Fifth Ring, she was the principal and founder of her own public relations agency, Galvanized Strategies, where she managed business development and operations, as well as client campaigns for corporations and nonprofits.
