NEW YORK—The Public Relations Society of America has named Arthur Yann as its vice president of public relations, responsible for strengthening PRSA’s efforts to advocate for the public relations industry and its professionals through thought leadership and public discourse on communications best practices, ethics and other relevant topics, and by helping to create understanding of the discipline’s role and value as a business tool.

Yann also will work closely with PRSA president and chief operating Officer William Murray to support the achievement of key organizational goals in the Society’s 2008–2010 strategic plan, such as maximizing member value, facilitating interactive dialogue, and creating a more diverse and global society.

Prior to joining PRSA, Yann was a senior vice president at HealthStar Public Relations. Earlier, he spent three and a half years as director of the New York office of CKPR, where he led a team serving brands such as Brookstone, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, HBO Video, KeyBank, Kohl’s Department Stores and MeadWestvaco.
