NEW YORK—West coast public relations firm Allison & Partners has opened a New York office. Allison & Partners provides media and community relations, cause marketing, special events and branding support to clients including ARAMARK, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Sorrento Cheese and zipRealty.

“Bringing our media and marketing expertise to the most important business center in the world is a great step forward in the evolution of our firm,” says Scott Allison, co-founder and president of Allison & Partners. “Our New York office will further build on the national reach we’ve developed through our four west coast offices.”

Allison, who formerly led the cause marketing practice at The Gable Group, launched his own firm in 2001 and has expanded in part through acquisition: buying the west coast operations of dot-com PR specialist Connors Communications and taking over The Montgomery Group in San Francisco following the death of founder Steve Pisinski.

The New York office will be led by general manager Linda Burns, who previously held positions at Fusion PR and Cohn & Wolfe, where she served as senior vice president and media executive, respectively.

The New York office has already executed several high profile entertainment industry events, including the United Cancer Charities’ November Soiree, hosted by Jane Hanson, and the 50th Anniversary screening of “Shane,” hosted by Morgan Freeman. Ongoing clients include IntraLinks, a secure online workspace used by the financial services and life sciences communities; The Hilco Organization, a financial services company; Core Communications, a provider of wired and wireless connectivity services;

Synergy Fitness Clubs; Sorrento Cheese; and United Cancer Charities.
