WILMINGTON, DEL—AnnaMaria DeSalva has departed Pfizer to take charge of corporate communications at DuPont.

DeSalva will take on the newly-created VP role at DuPont in March, overseeing the company's strategic communications and brand management around the world.

She leaves Pfizer after five years with the company. As corporate affairs VP for the company's biopharma innovation and outcomes unit, DeSalva oversaw corporate communications across science, medicine, portfolio and strategy.

"AnnaMaria's demonstrated experience in science and technology and leadership in communications is an ideal fit for DuPont's market-driven science," said DuPont SVP James C. Collins, Jr. "Her expertise in working inclusively with stakeholders makes her ideally suited to lead DuPont's communications and branding efforts."

Prior to joining Pfizer, DeSalva worked at WPP firms Hill+Knowlton and GCI Group. She also spent two years as a risk communications advisor at the US FDA.

"I am honored to join DuPont to lead this key function and help build the company's brand at a time of growth and transformation," DeSalva said. "Strong capabilities and strategy in these areas will help further unlock the value of DuPont's innovation."
