WASHINGTON, D.C.—APCO Insight, the global opinion research unit of APCO Worldwide, has launched a specialized healthcare research division. Healthcare research expert Chrystine Zacherau rejoins APCO as vice president and head of the Washington, D.C.-based practice.
APCO Insight has provided opinion research in health-related fields including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, insurance and hospitals. Recent thought-leadership studies include an international opinion survey of pharmacists to better understand their views of the issues facing their profession and practice; a global study of nurses in 11 countries on five continents to better identify how nurses view their profession and work environments; and a survey of medical school deans to solicit feedback on the schools' relationships with industry partners.
Zacherau maintains her nursing credentials and periodically provides patient care at a hospital in northern Virginia. Earlier in her career, she served as senior research manager at Behavior Research Center, an opinion research firm working in public polling, customer satisfaction research and corporate branding. She also was a senior research analyst at AdvancePCS, where she helped develop groundbreaking protocols in handheld technology solutions for prescription writing.
