New people at Fleishman-Hillard and ICR, new business at Ruder Finn.

SYDNEY—Fleishman-Hillard International Communications has promoted Chris Newman to general manager for its Australian operations, based in Sydney. Previously vice president, Melbourne, Newman assumes the role held since 2009 by Walter Jennings, who has resigned. A New Zealander, Newman began his career at Fleishman-Hillard in 2007 in the UK and the Middle East, specialising in corporate communications and issues management programs. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in politics and was also an executive committee member at UK agency Eulogy!

BEIJING—Corporate and financial consulting firm ICR has added Robert Koepp as senior vice president in its China operation. Koepp joins ICR having previously served as a managing director at a Sino-foreign investment subsidiary in China’s largest state-owned financial conglomerate, the CITIC Group. He has also worked independently as a financial advisor to institutional investors and strategy consultant to Asian and Western governments and multinationals.

SINGAPORE—Forbes Travel Guide has appointed Ruder Finn to provide PR counsel, media relations and event management for its inaugural hotel and spa ratings guide, which will be launched in Singapore in April 2011. Ruder Finn previously worked with Forbes Travel Guide to launch their hotel guides in Beijing, Hong Kong and Macau.
