A new Singapore member for IPREX; new people at Burson-Marsteller, Fleishman, Ogilvy Impact and Nissan; a new firm opening in Australia.

SINGAPORE—IPREX, an international network of public relations and communication firms, has recruited Singapore agency Chrysler Communications to its Asia Pacific group. Chrysler provides public relations consulting and media relations services for the consumer, lifestyle and corporate communications sectors within South East Asia. Clients include international serviced and virtual office provider Servcorp; Pangaea Singapore nightclub; furniture company WTP; and brands in the food industry such as Bistecca, Crust Gourmet Pizza and Senor Taco.

SINGAPORE--Burson-Marsteller has appointed Danny Phan as managing director to lead the firm’s corporate and brand marketing practices in Singapore. He will also join Burson-Marsteller’s global energy practice. Phan joins the firm with over a decade of international public relations experience in Asia and the Americas, most recently leading the regional expansion of financial and corporate communications consultancy Bell Pottinger Asia. Earlier,he was the regional director of Ogilvy PR’s global sustainability practice for Asia Pacific.

SINGAPORE—Fleishman-Hillard International Communications has appointed Sarah Scholefield (pictured) as senior vice president of consumer and lifestyle communications for its Singapore operations. Scholefield has 16 years of experience in both the UK and Asia, and she has spent the past nine years in Singapore, as a director at Fulford PR, Edelman and Ruder Finn, managing such clients as Diageo, Marina Bay Sands, adidas, Etihad, Ben & Jerry’s and RIM Social Media.

SYDNEY—Ogilvy Impact, the employee engagement and change communication arm of Ogilvy Public Relations, has appointed Mike Beckerleg and Lorie Helliwell as joint managing directors. Beckerleg and Helliwell replace Tam Sandeman who has decided to return to the UK after eight years with Ogilvy Public Relations Group. He has overseen brand, marketing and corporate communications divisions at companies such as Sony, Vodafone and Seiko.

VICTORIA—Chris Jordan has been appointed as press and public relations supervisor at Nissan Australia. Prior to joining Nissan, Jordan was a senior client manager at PR agency BAM Media for six years, serving as communications manager for the Kelly Racing V8 Supercars team for the past three years. He is also a former staff journalist at Motorsport News magazine.

SYDNEY—UK consultancy Beattie Communications has launched its Only Public Relations brand in Australia under the leadership of Sarah McMahon, who worked in-house and with Blinc International in Sydney for four years. In addition to consumer PR, B2B PR and corporate PR, Only Public Relations offers media buying, social media marketing and a suite of web marketing services.
