New business for Hoffman, Strategic Public Relations; new people at AKA Asia.

SINGAPORE—Brother International, a leader in development and manufacturing of printing, communication and digital imaging technologies, has named The Hoffman Agency its agency of record. Hoffman will provide strategic counsel, media relations and product awareness as part of the retainer remit in the Singapore market. Zerlinda Chong, head of marketing for Brother International Singapore, cited the firm’s “experience and track record in servicing both consumer and technology accounts.”

HONG KONG—Strategic Public Relations Group has been appointed by Dah Sing Life Assurance to provide PR services on a retainer basis, building on a partnership that began when SPRG was entrusted with the launch of the client’s recruitment and training centre last August. The new mandate will focus mainly on strengthening Dah Sing Life’s media relations, bolstering its brand profile and value, and raising awareness of the company’s suite of investment-linked, protection and retirement solutions.

SINGAPORE—Independent PR firm AKA Asia has appointed Laura Scriven-Young  and Emma Thompson as account directors. Scriven-Young joins from Harrods in London where she was senior press officer for beauty. Thompson joins from M:Communications where she was a founding member of the international healthcare team.
