SYDNEY—Volvo Car Australia has announced the appointment of Oliver Peagam as public affairs manager. He brings experience in Australia and the UK in roles spanning automotive journalism and, more recently, as marketing communications manager for the Skoda brand at Volkswagen Group Australia. Peagam replaces Laurissa Mirabelli who will continue to work in public affairs for Volvo on a part-time basis.

BEIJING—Strategic Public relations Group has been appointed by SEAT, one of the nine major automobile brands under the Volkswagen Group, to provide public relations services on a retainer basis in China. SPRG Beijing will provide brand/product communication, event management, media relations, and issues management, and will help SEAT to roll out its marketing and PR campaign in China.

SYDNEY—Burson-Marsteller Australia has appointed Lisa Collins as director of its consumer brands practice. After working in the US as a film producer and publicist, Collins returned to Australia and joined the The Trish Nicol Agency, where she was general manager and worked on global brands including Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose, Grand Marnier, Cartier, Mini Cooper and Schweppes.

SYDNEY—Bite Communications has added several new clients. Sybase, a subsidiary of SAP, already works with Bite in North America and Singapore and now joins Bite Australia’s enterprise software and services client list. The firm has also added Varicent, a global leader in incentive compensation and sales performance software, and Mainpac, an Australian enterprise asset management software provider. Bite has also signed up online ticketing vendor Eventbrite following a competitive pitch against agencies in the consumer, technology and lifestyle spaces.
