LONDON: Daniel Cohen, formerly MD of consumer brands at Grayling, has been appointed MD of Atomic EMEA.

The appointment comes as Atomic, acquired by Grayling last year, positions itself as an international boutique, based on its strong analytics capabilities.

Cohen is joined by Atomic SVP Judy Wilks, who has transferred to London from the firm's San Francisco operation. They will lead the agency together with director, Helen Ellis, formerly of Johnson King, who has been with the UK office since its launch in 2009.

Atomic was previously led in EMEA by Carolyn Watt.

“Normally, taking someone through your creds is a fairly standard process,” said Cohen. “When I’ve been introducing people to Atomic, a Grayling agency, I’ve struggled to get past the first page because everyone has just wanted to get into the analytics. For someone who’s been agency side for the past twenty years or so, that’s pretty damn impressive.”

Last year, Atomic grew by 36 percent globally, after being named The Holmes Report US Tech Agency of the Year in 2010.

In the UK the agency has doubled its size in 18 months, and added discount travel brand Hotwire to its portfolio. It also handled DataSift’s recent announcement of its ability to extract insights from historical public tweets.
